  1. Yep, I also have an ad blocker and didn't watch a single ad even though I was streaming every day. I could tell when they cut to commercial, but the stream would just continue to play.
  2. That is strange to schedule it that way if it is correct. I know in London there was at least a couple of hours between the end of the game and the start of the closing ceremony, although none of the basketball players from the final went to the ceremony anyways.
  3. Yeah, I hope to travel to Tokyo, but I don't expect to see many of the 2018 or 2022 events live.
  4. For reference, London's opening ceremony was a touch under 4 hours, and the closing ceremony lasted a little over 3 hours. I don't think you want to go too much over that just due to human attention spans being what they are.
  5. Well, that's probably not going to happen with FIFA's current leadership group in place.
  6. I would rather see everyone competing on a level playing field so that the best athlete wins the event rather than losing to a well-rested competitor.
  7. Why is the convention to have every swimming event squeezed into the first 8 days and every athletics event squeezed into the last 10? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to the athletes involved in multiple events to have more rest between events? It's not like they share venues.
  8. I thought they had used a portion of a protected reserve for the golf course and that was why they were getting so many protesters arguing against it.
  9. London only had one cauldron and it didn't even stay lit the whole time. No need to have two going all the time. Just have the Maracana one on when an event is occuring at the stadium.
  10. Very cool. That "mini planeta" view is quite trippy.
