  1. I found articles from 2018 that they would go after 2030, but none since then. And that is after 2022 race. But that is sad to hear
  2. Are there no hope or indicates of a Oslo/Lillehammer bid for 2030?
  3. I agree. 9-10 years should be max far in the future. Many things can happen, But 7 years also has seemed to short, many times i remember it has struggled to get finished in time.
  4. We have a velodrome. "Ballerup Superarena" with cap. of about 6.000 public and has hold World Championschip before and shall again in 2024. The biggest issue is the Athletic, but almost every games build a new venue for that. We want a new national stadium to more than 50.000. That could be build for 60.000, and prepared to remove some seats and go down at 50.000 and room for tracks around. As I see it, Brisbane also goes for around 50.000. And yes the whitewater course... But seriusly, why does that event not get moved from the games? It cost a fortune as no city has the venue. It seems to mee that it is always the problem. Then get snooker or dart or other small things in stead with cheaper venues. Hotels... Well if the venues are smaller, then the hotels dont have to be just as many... But 3-4 cruise ships in the harbout will fast get the number high! The village for athletes is not a problem, Copenhagen always need more recidents buildings and are building and building every year. Infrastructure. Yes there are of course need to improve the fascility. There are talk about expanding the Copenhagen Metro to also cross the water and include Malmø also. And other things are already underway in Copenhagen, like a new big road under the harbour to get the traffic from south east around the city to the north. New Metro lines, new light rail etc etc. A winter games in Copenhagen... i really don´t see it at all! That´s sound dumb to me... Denmark has NO good winter games history, only 1 medal all time winter games (SIlver womens curling 1998), and Oslo can do it alone! It they want. They just have to say yes, and IOC will accept almost whatever they come with.
  5. I must admit I havn´t studiet the Brisbane bid. But im Happy to hear what what you are writing. It gives me hope I think we could host it in Copenhagen joined with Malmø with "only" 2 new venues, the Athletics and Swimming arena. I hope i could get contact to someone who could go my idea for venues through and perhaps comment if I´m completely wrong. But it of course has to be someone with local knowledge The rest in existing venues, or temp venues/tribunes or temp rebuilds. The one with "low" capacity is for example table tennis i have placed in Malmø "Baltiska hallen" with only a cap. of 4.000. But perhaps one new indoor venue for aprox. 8.000 could be build in either Malmø or Copenhagen. But else I think we could do it! Well, it is not the thread on this forum for a debate on this. So back to London/Great Britian
  6. So you think Great Britain are one of the only possibilities in Europe in 2036, because problems in Germany national comitee, and other problems in the south (spain italy), frence has already in 2024... But what about a regional games Copenhagen/Malmø? Is that so unreal? To small venues? Do you think that IOC will accept smaller venues if the games are good? or is there a buttom limet for venue capacity you think?
  7. I agree, but if wee see it like that. How far around do you thinks a Olympic Games should be held (sailing of course an exception for many cities/countries with land all around). Are 3-400 km acceptable for venues apart?
  8. Are there really no big enough arenas in Paris, that not in use otherwise in the games, to host the handball tournament? Is it not a bit odd that only one sport is located in Lille so far away? I would prefer a smaller venue and then inside Paris.
  9. Sweden don´t host... They were very disappointed to not be picked with an almost new stadium in Stockholm.
  10. How early should I bee, for considering gowing to Paris 2024? Hotels etc? Now or 1 year before or? When are tickets normally gone out before a games? 1 year before? or?
  11. What are the venue demands for a youth olympic?
  12. Good point about Beijing and village. But are the venues from 2008 at all existing today?
  13. I havn´t been inhere for a while. But i love this discussion. Of course i dream of a Scandinavian games. And in speciel a Copenhagen bid. And I believe it could be done in a joint partnership with Sweden and Malmo. In the region called "Øresundsregionen" lives now aprox 4,1 million all within 1½ hour drive from center of Copenhagen and has increased about 10% in 10 years. Yes, it is not a very big city or metropolitan. But I would market it as "Small, but cosy"... And i 100% believe it would be well organized. In Denmark we have hosted many European Championschips in swimming, tabletennis, handball, volleyball, and many other minor sports, and many World Championschips in the years, for example in handball, Ice Hockey, curling, cyckling, both track and road, Archery, sailing, badminton etc. And we are part of Euro 2020 this summer with 4 matches in Copenhagen, and next year we are succeeded with the Grand Depart in Tour de France with 3 stages in Denmark! I cant remember any of those earlier held event gone wrong in organisation. So I believe deeply in my heart that we could make it if we went for it. And no, not with a 100.000 public athletics stadium and so on. Bus small and cosy as mentioned in the beginning (of course not too small either). And housing... The prices for buying and living in Copenhagen are rising, so there are good use for more renting appartments, so that is not a problem. Denmark is in top of a list of no corruption, see here: Corruption Perceptions Index - Wikipedia And that could be an advantage for IOC as well. And to hold a succesfull games in a small country with no corruption, i believe would raise there goodwill. But I am also a realistic. And I know that it probaply wont happen
  14. Is it completely stupid to suggest a moving of the games to another place? Tokyo and Japan is very far from other countries in handling the pandemic, vaccines etc. When no attendance, it should be "easy" to move it to another place. For example London? Or would it be completely bullshit to think that at this point. The venues, with no attendance, i believe would not be an issue in London?
  15. If Australia 2032 I cant see anywhere els than Europe in 2036. 2040 could then, if the time goes rigt be Africa og South America. And Europe 2036 i can only dream and hope of regional bid with Copenhagen, and the whole "Øresundsregionen" with Malmö as the other big part! The whole region is close to 4 million inhabitants. Well a man can dream But I am sure that Brisbane will du a great games!
  16. Does anyone in here know, how realistic it would be to move the games to another place at this point. I find it totally unrealistic! Why should a host nation then have 7 years, if it could be done in less Smaller tournaments can be changed in short notice. In december here in Denmark we took over the whole European Championchip in women handball in just 1-2 weeks notice. It was perfectly arranged (No public). World Championschip in icehockey in may this year Ukrains has been drawn out of there host. There will also be short notice for a new host. But again it is one simple venue. Not an olympic games. It seems absolute unlikely to move it!
  17. https://tokyocheapo.com/events/august At this calendar for August this year there are many other events beside the Olympic Games... The most valid dates are possible to be the same 2 weeks. But it could get problems for others. Especially here in Denmark... We are co hosting European Championschips in football... AND in 2021 we have the Grand Depart of Tour de France in Copenhagen... This year Tour de France start one week earlier because of the Games... Shall they do that again next year it could mean trouble in Copenhagen... Many good questions to be asking right now. It is very interesting what they came up with.
  18. In danish media they say the only thing clear, is that it shall take place after 2020, and latest in the summer 2021. That in mind seems like they don´t rule out a april games for example? When is it weather wise possible to take place in Tokyo?
  19. Could it happen it would be placed en april or May 2021? To get so far away from the winter games in 2022 as possible? or does july august 2021 seem to be the only possible date in 2021?
  20. Perhaps more and more athletes should scream up and tell they wan´t it postponed
  21. I stille believe and hope, that in july and august we have a more normal world again. BUT the preparation, the qualification etc is so unfair that a postponent is the best way. Then those 2 weeks also are in play for other sports for what they have delayed... For example european championschip in swimming and much other stuff. Decide for 2021, and have time to rearrange the calendar in all sport in good time and give the athletes better and fair preparation around the world.
  22. What if it is postponed one year to take part july and august 2021... Shall those who already are qualified still be qualified? Or shall there be a hole new qualification? For example in team sports, where some are qualified and som are not. But also other sports. A year later is perhaps not the same people who are the best anymore?
  23. Is a later date for the games only possible in 2021... What about october november this year? Is that out do you think. The only thing that worry me, is that when the descision shall be made, we can´t be sure of october is late enough
  24. I think the virus is over before the games. BUT, there are a lot of qualifications event that are cancelled... Many athletes don´t have the normal opportunities to qualify. I think that is the main concern right now. And as other are saying, China is on there way out of it. There are stille 4 months to the games. Is a one og 2 month delay a possibility? All sports in the world are postponed anyway...
  25. I think only 12 teams in the Handball tournament is to few. It is to easy for top nations to miss getting to the Olympic. I think 16 teams would be a better match, and i believe it stille can be done over the games with the same amount of matchdays. Now we have 2 groups of 6 teams. 4 goes by to quater finals. With the finals it gives 8 matchdays. I want 2 have 4 groups of 4 teams. 3x4 teams go by 2 another group fase, with 2x6 teams per group, points from the team you have you take with, and only play the new 3 teams. Then the 2 best teams from each to semifinals, and finals, total 8 matchdays. Now nations outside of Europe play qualification with European nations. I think that 2 of the 4 extra places should go to nations outside Europe, and 2 more for Europe. But it will increase the number of matches from 6 to 8 per day. It can not be done in the same arena. And therefor we need an extra... Oh no you think, we don´t need more venues. Well i think we have a venue that we don´t use in the beginning. The velodrome! The track cycling start monday in the second week. Handball only need to play there until thursday in the first week. Is that not time enough to rearrange the center of the floor to the track cycling? What about volleyball and basketball you think. Well i don´t know those sports very well, and can´t judge if those sports also are very tight and could use 4 more teams. But if they could, I have a crazy idea. Handball arena have 3 sessions per day, with 2 matches... Could it be possible to make a session fra 8 to 12 with 2 handball maches. A session from 14-18 with to basket matches, and af session from 20-24 with 2 volley matches at the same arena? you have 2 hours to switch the floor… Could that be possible?
