  1. Hi all, How are you guys? It has been awhile... I can still see some familiar names here Sharing a youtube clip of the opening ceremony of Kuala Lumpur 2017 South-East Asian Games last Saturday.
  2. I'm lovin' the para games now 3 golds in 2 days for Malaysia woohoo
  3. It has been a successful CWG for the Malaysians... 12 Golds, 10 Silvers and 13 Bronzes.. the most golds ever won. Previously it was 10 golds during KL98. Golds were from Weightlifting (2), Track Cycling (1), Badminton (4), Squash (1), Shooting (2), Diving (1), and Rhythmic Gymnastics (1). The lawn bowls team targeted 3 golds and came back with none... very unfortunate for the hot favorites...
  4. Hey CAF.. not too bad here.. Anyone knows any network showing live online telecast of the OC?
  5. Hello peeps... Have not been actively involved in the forum for so long.. Delhi's preparation has so far been interesting I really hope they could do an "Athens" and make it a great games nevertheless. Malaysian world no 1s... Lee Chong Wei (men's singles badminton), Khoo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong (men's doubles badminton), Nicol David (women's singles squash), Safuan Said (men's singles Lawn Bowls) have already checked in at the games village by yesterday. At the opening ceremony, Malaysia's flag bearer will be Siti Zalina, the women's singles lawn bowls gold medalist in Manchester 2002 and Melbourne 2006, trying for a hattrick in Delhi. Other world class performance by Malaysians can be expected in Diving, Track Cycling, and Archery. I will not be watching the games on Astro in Malaysia as I will be in Frankfurt for 10 days beginning tomorrow. So I'm just gonna be depending on the Internet and you guys Oh I read that Jai Ho is one of AR Rahman songs that will be performed, together with his CWG commissioned song. I suspect it's gonna be a very colorful opening ceremony.
  6. Some info about the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre:
  7. Hi all.. it's been quite some time since I last post anything around here.. About the KL bid for the 2013 host session, it even came as a surprise to me when I saw reports on that in the local media. Looking at the venues that the IOC evaluation team visited, no doubt that we have the best facilities for the event. The 2 main hotels, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, and Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur are two hotels sandwiching the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Great venues. I've attended meetings, dinners and seminars in all these venues before. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel is actually right next to the Petronas Twin Towers, and have hosted an IOC meeting sometime in 2005 or so (can't recall the exact year). The Malaysian bid team who will be presenting features the Olympic Council of Malaysia President, The Minister of Youth & Sports, Link 1: Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur Link 2: Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur Link 3: Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Will KL win? By just looking at the venues and what we can offer, no doubt. Other than that, it's as good as a 5-year old's guess. So it's Kuala Lumpur vs Buenos Aires... good luck!
  8. Now that closing ceremony was a let down.. pity London didn't capitalize on that to make their segment memorable!
  9. the lucky cloud tree made the stadium look like a huge ballroom...
  10. awesome formation of the logo.. first time we've seen that in Beijing... and the fireworks.. again... wow!
  11. If you've been to London, you'll understand. Can't go anywhere without one!
  12. My expectations exactly, even before the ceremony started. Not interesting.
  13. I notice a portion of the seats is empty. Is there any reason for this?
  14. lol! even ASTRO is bored... 2 commercial breaks already! the wheels remind me of LA1984 closing where Lionel Ritchie sang on stage.
  15. China just got their 50th gold medal and their 98th overall. They'll definitely get 100 medals overall having 2 other boxers in the finals who are competing later today.
  16. The way some of them danced was not meant to be seen by kids.
  17. No doubt then that Beijing 2008 mascots are the most visible mascots in any Olympics. I remembered Barcelona's Cobi only appeared at the closing ceremony as a balloon..
  18. 1. China 2. USA 3. Russia 4th, 5th and 6th will be between Germany, GBR, and Australia.. Korea could overtake Australia for 6th.
