New train station near Osaka expo venue opens

A new train station located near the venue of a world exposition in the western Japanese city of Osaka has opened ahead of the scheduled start of the event in April.

An opening ceremony for Yumeshima Station was held on Sunday morning. The closest station to the site of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan was constructed in the city's Konohana Ward by extending Osaka Metro's Chuo Line by 3.2 kilometers.

Osaka Metro president Kawai Hideaki said he will make his best efforts to ensure safe transportation so that expo visitors' trips to and from the venue will be enjoyable memories.

The first train left Yumeshima Station shortly after 5 a.m. with many railway fans on board. Railway officials waved at them, while the station chief called out to signal the departure.

The station's first arriving train pulled up shortly after 5:30 a.m., with passengers almost filling it. Many people were seen taking photos on the platform and elsewhere.

The travel time from central Osaka's Umeda Station to Yumeshima Station is about 30 minutes at the shortest, including a transfer. The operator says the station is expected to be used mainly by people involved in the expo's preparations ahead of the event's opening.

A man in his 20s was the first person to buy a train ticket at the station. He said he queued at 7:30 p.m. on the previous day, and will keep the ticket as a lifetime treasure. He also said the station is spacious, and that it makes him feel that the opening of the expo is approaching.

This cake looks like Scottish Dundee cake. The UK is the only European country that I traveled in my lifetime. To be honest, I can't say that foods are delicious because almost all of them really have NO tastes. But I cannot underestimate the sweets. I remember buying two similar cakes in a small cake stall in Covent Garden before I left London.

No. I like KFC but didn't have time to place an order for seasonal party pack this year. Instead, I bought some chicken legs of Fukuoka and cooked herb & spice roasted chicken with soya+butter+honey sauce. BTW Okinawa has the highest consumption of KFC in Japan. You OZs eats shrimps in Christmas. I never knew that. I thought the shrimp of your post meant Donald Trump of this :lol: !

@yoshiAt TOKYO 2020ne, we earned 58 medals;G 27, S 14 and B 17. 58 medals in total. If Tokyo 2020 had been in success, we could have won more medals. I wanted to see more medals in ballgames, water sports, and athletics this time.
