I´ve been absent for a while. to the topic: I dont care about the mens football at the Olympics as there is no German team. But i closely follow the womens tournament. Germany is current world cup winner and many here in the press believe, that the team is a gold medalist. i totally disagree with that. the tournament is quite open. That said, only Brazil, US, Norway, Germany and North Korea have the chance to win a medal. All other teams are sh!t! Including New Zealand, Sweden and Canada. I really cant understand how somebody can be satisfied with a draw against Japan. Come on, it is only Japan. New Zealand will be ripped apart by the US and Norway. But it seems to me, that the US will struggle to keep the gold medal. I expect them to finish second in their group. That means they will face the winner of the Brazil, NK, Germany-group in the quarterfinal. They can win that match, no doubt, but it will tough. For Germany i am hoping, that will finish also second in the group. That means they will play Sweden or Canada in the quarter. An easy job.

The German NOC expects a place between 9th-12th position. Compared to Athens we will finish much lower. But in London the NOC wants to finish in the 4th!!! position.

Germany will play a friendly there against England in August. The match has been confirmed by the DFB today. I guess many teams want to play a friendly with England in the future...

Because the Serie A-Scandal wont be in the headlines anymore.

Just a information: When i enter the site with my Mozilla Firefox IE i can not click the news on the right side.

The Opening Match will be played there. There reason, why the stadium is so "small", is that Munich still has its Olympic Stadium with a capacity of about 60.000. But it won´t see any WorldCup Match. We´ve lost there 1:5 to England in 2001!!!! You know, this is the the Olympic Stadium from 1936 with a new roof. It is under protection as an historic monument. Finally i think it is a matter of taste, which one you prefer. The total new one in Munich or the Stadium with history in Berlin.

That was not my intention!! But it is hard to understand, that the stadium won´t be used by a Premier League Club BTW here in Germany we think we built the best staium of the world:: Allianz-arena in Munich in English

First of all, i did not intend to insult the National Football Team of England!!! But one question remains: Why does not want any Premier League club move to the "fantastic" stadium?

But how long? Which team will play there? Will Team England play their national matches only in Wembley? Which teams will play the opening match? Which team has won the last match in the OLD Wembly? Don´t know anymore...what a pity....
