  1. OMG.
  2. Really? Is that all? I thought it would need to be northern Scotland to even be vaguely near doable. Maybe that could work, it'll be ages before we get the summers again, & we're improving at the winters all the time. Also be a return home for curling, we've got a few famous winter Olympians to back it (Torvill, Dean, Robin Cousins, Amy Williams, Rhona Martin, Eddie the Eagle ) Also got a good chance of curling gold again in Sochi. It would have the newness of being the first WOG bid from the UK & the first proper bid from Scotland. Maybe in the 2030s-40s perhaps?
  3. Ice events in London, skiing & stuff on the Chilterns. Yeah, we could do it! On a more serious note, could Scotland ever host the games? It's the only place in the UK that could. Maybe Aberdeen as host city?
  4. Does Madrid suffer from not being as renowned as Barcelona? Is Madrid the Manchester to Barcelona's London?
  5. I'd love Sweden to host, but they're too small for a modern summer games, & Stockholm is too far from slopes for the WOG. Maybe a European games for Stockholm or Gothenburg would be best for them.
  6. Yeah, that's great! Get Stockholm involved from 1912 too, LA from 1932 & London from 2012 might be more difficult though
  7. It's sad to see that France thinks of itself like this Surely an Olympics could do you a power of good, to show the world & yourselves that France is still relevant & modern, to give France a lift.
  8. So if Rome hadn't given up, Madrid would've been left with Doha & Baku, & we'd have had Tokyo, Istanbul, & Rome at the session?
  9. Yes, exactly. Germany deserves a chance to host an untainted Olympics, & this is the perfect time for them. Remember that united Germany has never hosted any Olympics.
  10. Fantastic!
  11. What of Lyon or Marseille, would they suffer Manchester syndrome from being too small?
  12. Studio Ghibli. Next? We're organising an Olympics bit by bit!
  13. What the heck? A few modifications & you'd have Fuki! That's the first Tokyo problem sorted, what now?
  14. FUKI!! Of course! Wasn't that krow's inappropriate host bid?
  15. 2024 is still there for you. The Pan Ams will be fresh, & will help you against Europe & Africa. Even if you don't win it, you'll have shown to the IOC that you're serious, & any flaws picked up on in the 2024 bid can be ironed out so you can go all-out to get 2028.
  16. ROFLMFAO
  17. Uh oh...the Catalans won't be happy...
  18. Oops, sorry. I meant to add possibly but forgot. Still, if FIFA have any sense it will be moved soon anyway.
  19. 2022 is rightly being moved due to the weather in Qatar. Russia has nothing to do with it.
  20. Here we go...the biennial forum explosion is here! Let the fun begin!

  21. Aren't they using giant 3D versions of the dummy in their wayfinding? Edit: From my username, you may think I'm a small, friendly, rideable green dinosaur.
  22. Good God, that thing is hideous: It makes Wenlock look like an artistic masterpiece
  23. I have a question mainly for our Aussie members. I've read online that there were fairly large scale opening ceremonies held at each venue for the start of the soccer tournament at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Does anyone know anything more about these, or have pics/videos? I've not heard of similar things at any other games.
  24. Quite high, it's in Glasgow remember.
  25. Nice but it looks like it's from 1950 rather than 1990.
