  1. there was a timing error a few moments ago for a Swedish Anna Olofssonn at the women biathlon pursuit event. timekeepers held her back 14 seconds longer than they should have at the start of the race.
  2. Tia Hellebaut olympic high jump champion ! Vlasic silver, Chicherova bronze
  3. They probably did, but it's a team who is practising a lot their baton changes. They knew they could have a chance after the bronze in Osaka last year. And It's great for Gevaert: she has won now a medal at every T&F championship: at the World and European Championships outdoor and indoor. And now at the Olympics. It's the first Belgian medal in athletics since Montreal 1976. Very happy about that. And Tia Hellebaut can also do well tomorrow in the high jump event
  4. The Dutch women are winning the most medals for their country: 4 golden medals, 4 silver and 2 bronze. 1 silver medal has been won by the mixed dressure team the Dutch men have only taken 2 bronze medals.

  6. I've been searching in the archives from "De Morgen", but unfortunately you have to be subscribed to the Belgian newspaper to have access.
  7. It's a very popular event here in Belgium during the '6-Day' events in Europe in the winter. Maybe because it's so confusing , like Belgium Congratulations to Argentina, but the Belgian were so close to a medal, even the golden medal. Another one of the few medal chance missed for the Belgian team and with our football team 1/0 down against Nigeria, it seems probable that we won't win any medal, for the first time since 1932

  10. Terrible what happened to Matthew Emmons, who fired at an opponent's target in the Athens final. He had this time a comfortable lead before his last shot in the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions final. He missed completely his last shot and ended without medal.
  11. Argentina - Holland 2/1; Nigeria - Ivory Coast 2/0 Semis men: Argentina - Brazil & Nigeria - Belgium
  12. Ross Edgar (Great-Britain; silver medal keirin)
  13. Begium has beaten Italy 3/2 and will play the semi final. We can say thanks to the referee: is I were Italian, I wouldn't be very happy right now Brazil is 2/0 up against Cameroon
  14. It's 2:30 AM in Beijing and Safina is still playing doubles. She should have to play tomorrow 4:00 PM her single semi-final
