  1. Wow, how great is the mall going to look when it's finished! I just can't wait for tonight.
  2. sorry if this has already been covered, i thought that the PM was consulted regarding the size of the budget of the ceremonies, do we specifically know if it was about the lighting method and cauldron?
  3. You know, i hadn't even noticed! But you're right that must've been taken a while ago, I just saw a segment on BBC News about the park and that also had no wrap on the stadium. I know it's been delayed for logistical (getting oc props in) and financial reasons but it's a shame as i think it looks so much better with the wrap.
  4. Wow that looks quite exotic! Hard to belive it's in east London! Hope the weather lasts.
  5. they are working this morning! Don't know what that was all about, I'm really liking the Look! Can't wait to get down to some of these venues! I'm getting very excited now
  6. Sorry NY20 but most of those images aren't showing for some reason, from what i can see it looks very good! Much better than Beijing!
  7. Just looking at the film it seems that many of the cauldron lighting sequences don't actually get lit by the flame of the final torch bearer, instead being lit but some sort of ignition sequence. I suppose this is for contingencys sake. London 2012 have done a brilliant job at hiding the cauldron from us! I will certainly have my eyes peeled for it when i get in that stadium on the 27th!
  8. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/jul/10/london-2012-david-beckham-roles?newsfeed=true What do you think this means? Do you think they mean a role in the Opening Ceremony? I don't think he'd be the final torch bearer, not being an Olympic medal winner...
  9. I saw an impressive picture of the Eden Project all lit up in Pink/ Purple with the London 2012 Logo somewhere, but i can't seem to find that... That looked really impressive!
  10. That link didn't work for me try http://shop.tfl.gov.uk/design-collections/Underground-Olympic-Legends-Map.html or http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympics-fourth-place-medal/london-underground-map-changes-names-stations-olympic-athletes-174928197.html
  11. does this shed any light (picture from By Pondspider on Flikr)
  12. They look great, i'm really getting excited as we're getting closer! Does anyone have more shots of the park as they put the look up? Can't believe there are only 25 days left until i'm going to be sitting in the Olympic stadium about to watch the Opening Ceremony!
  13. This must be it. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3LvNekI5_Go" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> that didn't work, i was trying to embed this clip
  14. I love this trail, absolutely love the music, think that elbow and the bbc have done a brilliant job with this. I also like the way that the bbc website has linked in the theme on their olympic sport pages, scroll to the bottom of page link below, if you refresh you get different animations. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18165601
  15. Wow, the rings must've been put up pretty early this morning, i definitely didn't see them there last night. The look is up in Barkingside (Redbridge) and Wanstead (Redbridge) but just flag banners on the lampposts. Looking pretty sparse at the moment but there may still be more to come.
