  1. Rob, I agree Spanish sport press is quite nasty in football affairs, but honestly I think it has been very respectful in the Olympic race. As for the accusation of victimism I still think it is not that but a wish of having objective media, look at how many outlined articles have been published for each city and the style of presenting the corresponding news, or for instance not updating the Bindex since May when Madrid was far on it from its rivals, what it is not true anymore.
  2. First of all, I would ask you some personal respect not only here but also in other articles. Furthermore, I ignore why you call me "Castellano", you are completely wrong. As for this article some comments: 1. The title `Voted Number One City in Europe Boosts Istanbul 2020' is clearly biased :Compare it with the fact that Istanbul has just been voted as second prefered tourist destination this year by SOME READERS of one TOURIST MAGAZINE. In that list five positions behind appear Charleston (!), perhaps are there many readers of that magazine in that city? 2. Spain does not need to wait ti
  3. Furthermore the original Barcelona 2022 bid aspiration was announced by Jordi Hereu on 13/1/2010 of the Socialist Party, so it was not an original idea by the nationalists That's right, but the new nationalist Governement who rules Barcelona City Council since 2011 had not say a word about it till June, completely INDECENT timing as even they have recognized, much more if we take into acount that Barcelona is included as co-host city in Madrid 2020 bid (in spite of being more than 600 km far, and in spite of Barcelona not having included Madrid in its bid for 1992 or in any other in the futur
  4. You are absolutely right; in fact it is the usual behaviour of Barcelona (and Catalonia in general) leaders nowadays, they are a cancer for the rest of Spain. Madrid seems Don Quixote including Barcelona as co-host city for 2020 (what they would never do in reverse) and receiving that answer from them. What I also wonder is why Gamesbids and Insidethegames publish now news about a regional French-Catalonian meeting that took place in the first half of June (as you can see on the Spanish press). Please, no more unfair actions against Madrid, they deserve the Games!
  5. I do not agree with the title of your article. This would not be a Spain bid but rather an against Spain one. The project is only being prepared by the Barcelona City Council, ruled by an independentist party that wants to call next year a referendum to get Catalonia independent, in line with its permanent wishes of undermine Madrid projects. In fact, it has been even called by themselves 'indecent' and its approval in the future by the Spanish Olympic Committee would be very controversial. On the other side, Madrid bid for 2020 has included Barcelona as a co-host city for some football matche
  6. This week I have read that most of the Turkish journalists that informed about the riots have been fired, perhaps Turkish Government only wants journalists informing about "momentum"...
  7. All of us can publish opinions comments for years but at the end the IOC members decide with their subjective and many times weird criteria. I would vote for a more professional organisation with objective criteria, not depending on philias or phobias and not spending so much money in very expensive visits and assessments with no real use
  8. I am writing about cities, it would be different with a candidate like Osaka for instance. Repeating cities is not a good habit at all, and it goes against the olympic spirit
  9. Madrid is completely reliable and exciting, I can assure you. Its real budget es much bigger, in fact huge, but it has been invested during the last years during Madrid three Olympic attempts in a row. Thanks to it the infrastructures are now brand ultimate modern ones both in sports facilities, transports, technologies, etc. Madrid has been investing constantly for these Games and now the final necessary budget is small. Furthermore, the Olympic plan is the best one I have ever seen in Olympic bids, with absolutely exciting aspects. And do not forget that Tokyo already hosted the Games in 196
  10. The marks are pure arithmetics extracted from the IOC marks (which also are pure arithmetics) given when it announced the shortlist. I do not usually read El Mundo but I agree that not only them but also other media have messed up things now. The dossier itself has been marked as perfect as it has been the only one not requested to be ammended. Of course there are issues which can be improved, and they will be improved, but nothing to do for instance with some other cities that have or will host Olympics in the 21st century. I have friends in different continents and all agree that Madrid pro
  11. Probably you are using the same microscope that you used after the cut and made you write "Tokyo has a marginal lead over Madrid in IOC scoring" without at least writing the real marks: Madrid 8.08, Tokyo 8.02 and istanbul 6.98, why? Perhaps because Madrid is not paying any ad to to your page? This time Madrid is the only one who has been recognised for having a perfect dossier, don't you think the Spanish capital is gaining momentum?
  12. I do not understand why almost all the subscribers are not fair with Madrid. I have not seen any comment either on the very unstable -even critical- situation in Turkey (both inside and from Syria) or on the fact that Japan has organised 3 Olympic Games (last ones Nagano 1998, and Tokyo already organised them in 1964). Do not forget as well that the Spanish economy is starting its reactivation with 7 years ahead till 2020, that a very strict Anti-doping Law will be approved this month by the Spanish Parliament, and focused on Madrid that this city has been twice 2nd in Games votings (1972 and

  14. As Istanbul bid is the main advertiser of this website it is not new that gamesbid.com publishes articles containing just auto-propaganda of this city pretending to be news, it is really a shame to think that your readers are idiots :-(
  15. Gamesbids.com is not an independent source anymore. Istanbul bid is its main advertiser and Gamesbids thanks them with a scandalous favouritism: 42 topics for Istanbul, 24 for Tokyo and 19 for Madrid. Approximately every week Gamesbids.com publishes an article praising Istanbul, which always starts with "X boosts Istanbul bid...", being or not being an important topic. Perhaps one of these weeks they will publish that having the longest name among the three candidate cities boosts Istanbul bid as well :-) Even a very secondary section, the poll, changed in two days, passing from Tokyo leading
