  1. I saw this story that the Japanese was going to start the relay 30 days earlier than the IOC's plan and that made me wonder could the IOC bring back the global Olympic Torch Relay? https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1059525/olympic-torch-relay-to-last-30-days-longer-than-ioc-target-tokyo-2020-president-reveals https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2017/12/27/national/tokyo-2020-torch-relay-last-130-days-organizing-committee-chief-says/
  2. Here is NBC's coverage of Cathy Freeman's Race. One of the Great Moments In Olympic History
  3. Does anybody know a website where I can watch or download full past FIFA World Cup matches?
  4. https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/events/pyeongchang-2018/
  5. The only person that I can think of to produce the ceremonies is Ric Birch http://spectak.com/
  6. The PyeongChang Games was better than I anticipated. Of course, NBC's live coverage of the games was alright and the US medal count damped expectations and winning 9 gold medals for the third straight Olympics shows how the US still needs a little bit more to do like win a medal in biathlon. The hockey competition was lackluster to say the least, I hope the IOC and the NHL will compromise before Beijing seeing the mistake they made. All in all, these games were okay and they were no where spectacular like Lillehammer, Salt Lake and Vancouver. But, I'm afraid that the price tag for Beijing four years from now, will be a lot worst than Sochi's to the point that nobody will bid for a Winter Olympics in 2034 and beyond.
  7. With PyeongChang now over, is it enough to say that Calgary in '26 and Salt Lake in '30 is now a forgone conclusion?
  8. Here's something curious from NBC http://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2018/01/16/dale-earnhardt-jr-to-make-nbc-debuts-at-super-bowl-lii-and-winter-olympics/
  9. here's an article about the weather on the day of the ceremony from NBC Olympics http://olympics.nbcsports.com/2017/12/21/pyeongchang-winter-olympics-cold-weather/
  10. This is NBC's breakdown on how they'll broadcast the games http://olympics.nbcsports.com/2017/11/28/nbc-olympic-tv-schedule-pyeongchang/
  11. Sweden qualifies for Russia Italy will miss the World Cup for the 1st time since 1958
  12. They have still have the ceremonies on there you have to search and type in "ceremonies" they are probably updating it
  13. That's possible but they are not going to move the ceremony in the daytime so it's very likely that they ask the spectators to bring blanklets and put on enough warm clothing to make sure they don't get hypothermia
  14. They might have two cauldrons: one in honor Pyeongchang and one in honor of Seoul since next year marks the 30th anniversary of those games
  15. Plus most of the venues in Salt Lake City are still standing and can refurbished and renovated to today's standards including the Olympic and Paralympic Village which they do not need rebuild a new one and the airport will probably be adding new terminals. Plus, the tram has already expanded they'll probably follow the same venue plan like LA did for 2028 but they are not getting 2026 the U.S has better chance of the Winter Games for 2034 having the Games come back just six years after LA hosting them.
  16. South Africa will probably bid for 2032 with Cape Town and the nationwide concept is good in theory because they would really have to sell this to the IOC order for them to successful to finally bring the games to Africa
  17. 2027 will mark 40 years since the Pan Am Games came to the United States in Indianapolis and now, that LA will host the 2028 Olympics it would be a great lead up to those games. So, which city should host these games and for some of the cities will use these games as a test run to see if they handle the strain and pressure of possibly to bid and host the Olympics
