  1. Basically, 4 of the main presidential candidates support the bid (their party also): Le Pen, Fillon, Macron, Hamon, and one doesn't: Melenchon. (I confirm Le Pen's party really doesn't like the slogan is in english!)
  2. A new race linking both poles of Paris 2024 in May: http://www.leparisien.fr/paris-75/paris-2024-bientot-une-course-entre-l-hotel-de-ville-et-le-stade-de-france-03-03-2017-6728331.php This race will mostly follow the Paris 2024 river loop fan trail (icluding 2 live sites). This trail is composed of 3 sections: Seine riverbanks canal Saint-Martin canal Saint-Denis Eiffel tower live site: Seine riverbanks: Paris arenas 1 & 2: Canal Saint-Martin: Paris hidden gems La Vilette live site: dedicated to sport and culture " Located in the Parc de la Villette, it will be dedicated to sport and culture, providing introductions to the 28 Olympic sports and 22 Paralympic sports, and benefitting from the nearby Philharmonie de Paris and Cite des Sciences (Europe’s largest science museum). La Villette Great Hall will also broadcast sport competitions and the Paris 2024 Opening and Closing Ceremonies." canal Saint-Denis: path in renovation, will be the longest street art display in the world! arrival at stade de France:
  3. Paris mayor visiting Tokyo 2020: https://sportetsociete.org/2017/02/27/jo-2024-anne-hidalgo-rencontre-la-gouverneure-de-tokyo-et-visite-les-sites-aquatiques-des-jo-2020/
  4. Other survey with 69% support in France: http://www.rtl.fr/sport/football/jo-2024-69-des-francais-soutiennent-la-candidature-parisienne-7787421856 And many people shocked by the slogan "made for sharing" in english language...
  5. Some other elements of this survey: "Do you know that Paris is candidate to host the 2024 summer games?" Strange to see that 68% of Indians and 65% of Chinese know Paris is candidate while only 27% of Britains know it "According to you, the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is the assurance of having Olympic games ..." "Open, focused on sharing" is ranked #8 in this survey.
  6. I agree, for me there was one real big problem during Euro 2016: this match England - Russia. Most of the countries (England, Holland, Germany....) had done a good preparation job: they kept home their most furious hooligans. But not Russia who let (encouraged or even maybe ordered) their worst hooligans come with one goal: kill some english people. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jun/18/whitehall-suspects-kremlin-links-to-russian-euro-2016-hooligans-vladimir-putin I aggree the police was not prepared to such attacks (focusing on terror attacks or "classical" hooligans battles) But at least no team had to change its training base! https://www.rt.com/sport/345137-brazil-copa-america-ucla-shooting/
  7. Fortunately, there are still some people who may visit Paris! http://sport24.lefigaro.fr/le-scan-sport/2017/02/03/27001-20170203ARTFIG00073-jo-2024-a-l-etranger-la-candidature-de-paris-est-preferee-a-celle-de-los-angeles.php survey: "which city would you like to be selected"
  8. So he may not visit us after visiting the Queen....What a pity!
  9. And a quiz there: http://parcoursdurable.paris2024.org/en (to check you carefully watched the video!)
  10. Parc des princes capacity might be increased to 60000 seats
  11. The complete range of shared electric vehicles! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3879176/Flying-water-taxi-tested-Seine-Futuristic-Sea-Bubbles-sail-2ft-river.html http://en.velib.paris.fr/ http://www.cityscoot.eu/?lang=en https://www.autolib.eu/en/ http://gamesbids.com/eng/summer-olympic-bids/2024-olympic-bid-news/paris-2024-hails-mobility-partner-ratp-for-first-driverless-electric-buses/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+gamesbidsrss+(GamesBids.com+Headlines)
  12. ...and lasts longer in the evening Anyway, the sun is a thing that naturally goes from America to Asia/Oceania, and then to Europe/Africa, and back to America. Just wait for your turn!
  13. better to show night renders to avoid unpleasant remarks
  14. So, what's new? a new slogan: MADE FOR SHARING a new web site with a new video: http://www.paris2024.org/en/vision some new pieces of information: Two major Olympic trails will create an inviting and festive promenade encouraging residents and visitors to wander while enjoying Paris and the Paris 2024 celebration: the River Loop will follow the River Seine and its canals from the Eiffel Tower up to the Stade de France; and the Light Trail will draw a path along Paris’s most iconic cultural venues and major gathering places. Two official live sites: the Trocadero Live Site facing the Eiffel Tower (should look like the 90 000 spectators fan zone for Euro 2016) the La Villette Live Site located in the Parc de la Villette (it will be dedicated to sport and culture) Olympic Village: The Village will host training venues for 60% of these athletes Nothing new concerning sport venues: I was hoping Handball could get the main Paris Arena (instead of basketball) after the successful 2017 World Championship... but it's not the case. That's what I noticed. What else?
  15. For me, sustainability is the strongest point of the bid. THE main point to be highlighted by Paris?
  16. (sorry....can't copy proper ly the pictures of the pool....)
  17. You're right but things are changing so fast.....! The election was promised to the republicans (Fillon) and it's now so different. here is the last poll:
  18. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jan/31/french-parliament-raid-police-francois-fillon-investigation-penelope Seems he's no longer the favorite....!
