I think it’s safe to assume the individual team members will represent the full political spectrum, from raging MAGAites to Antifa firebrands, all of whom will be continuously urged by everyone from the IOC and the USOC down to their personal social media minders to keep their lips and posts zipped and not stir up controversy or offend existing or potential sponsors. It’s all up their personal consciences and bravery, of course, and I can’t fault any of them who don’t want to make statements. Then again, we all know the “first they came for the communists and I did not speak up” mantra, so I’m hoping some will be indeed brave enough to speak up.

I doubt it would even be that. I expect no boycotts - except, maybe, Iran and co. But there’ll be a lot of cheap talk from political quarters who have nothing to lose about it, which is good.
