  1. The full version of BBC's trail on YouTube, available in HD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlbAsVnPzzE&list=LL5D32btCiCRZuk9h2rfpt3w&feature=mh_lolz
  2. Totally just posted on the wrong thread, ah well, here it is again... Amazing, slightly gutted that i gave into temptation but i would have found out about this idea sometime. I'm so glad they're including the national flowers in the ceremony, i remember years ago i wanted something like that to happen. I believe these flowers could possibly represent the olympic rings. Green hills, yellow daff, red rose, blue flax, and i'm pretty sure the thistle is dark enough to be the black ring as well judging by the prototype.

  4. I find them really nice. I think the costumes would look better and more presentable if the ladies' hairs were up though. The podium is very elegant.
  5. I've got mine on android and it works fine
  6. Oh, now I notice the results app coming soon haha
  7. Here's the page from the site with a bit of info and pictures http://www.london2012.com/mobileapps/ Do you think there's more apps to be launched if they've got a page specifically for mobile apps? Hmmm...
  8. London2012 have finally launched an app called 'Join In', very good one as well with a lot of info on the relay, sports, ceremonies and festivals. They've bought the logo to life as well in 3D :-D
  9. I can visualize a small-scale cauldron that won't compete with the orbit, and Boris probably ruined the plan of a tower to the north of the stadium (The one from the planning pdf that's been around for years) ever since introducing his orbit to the park. I can't see the area above the elevator shaft on the tower as a place for the cauldron either, as Heatherwick's design won't be able to be seen properly or appreciated. The orbit may even be a distraction, as not everyone will know that Heatherwick is behind the actual design and the orbit is the next most obvious thing to house the cauldron. That being said I think the orbit would make a very interesting lighting sequence with all the twists and spirals so they might go down the 'nice and pretty' lighting route, therefore Heatherwick might add something clever to the orbit. I'm not gunna stick around on this thread for much longer now anyways as I want to be surprised. I think it's only a matter of time until proper clues and hints start to show up (Excluding the orbit).
  10. As amazing as that might look the cauldron can't obstruct people's view from the events taking place on the track and field, not to forget that it can't get in the way of the screens as well :/ I'm stooped as to where the cauldron will be. The orbit is my first guess personally.
  11. I bloody hope it's an early Olympic-themed April fool's joke! I've only just got used to using the tube let alone this haha
  12. The hot pink uniforms aren't to be liked, they're to be seen. The same goes for every other contrasting colour used in venues and uniforms, it's so every visitor during the games can distinguish easily between different people and places.
  13. If the theme is Isles of wonder then I presume all of the UK will be included some way or another
  14. I can see Nimrod being a tearjerker if it's definitely included, but if they decide to make a contemporary twist then they'll need to be very clever to pull it off successfully! Can't believe these games are just around the corner
  15. It would stage quite an interesting firework sequence with all those loops. If this tower actually happens to be the cauldron in the end, I won't be surprised if they include the loops somehow in the lighting ceremony.
  16. Not sure about "2012 Headline", but I found this font on DaFont at the bottom of this page; My link
  17. Yeah, really nice design I wish they would hurry up with the website mind! Hopefully that email indicates that more changes are on the way very soon
  18. Absolutley nothing is wrong with opinion, but why go out of your own way and express such a strong opinion and argue over a structure which you have only seen in pictures or incomplete with your own eyes..? No need...
  19. I wonder if they're going to make the spiral staircase reflect the colours of the Olympic flag? Seems possible
  20. I agree Oaky, I believe hardly any effort is being made to include the whole of the UK in the games, and yet they wonder why there's a substantial amount of the population 'not interested' in the games. I don't get why they constructed a brand new mountain biking course when there's a state-of-the-art course in Wales already. Aaaah well, nought to be done I suppose But hey, I'm Welsh so I would be biased anywayz
  21. Let's not forget that Boyle has only suggested that there'll be a lot of music, he hasn't pointed out that we'll see a lot of well-known music artists in the OC. Sorry I'm about to bring this up, but Beijing had a lot of music - not all by famous faces, and there was chanting (like it or not, it's musical). So let's not jump on the 'ColdSpiceBeatles 7' band-waggon just yet Generally speaking, I'm expecting urban, traditional british rock and maybe the old classic composition to add a nice contrast (e.g. The Greensleves rendition in the handover)
  22. Coldplay would be a very good choice Very uplifting songs!
  23. It looks similar to building a k'nex sculpture. I suppose it'll be easier to build it's main structure but the real work will start when adding it's 'innards', including it's viewing platform.
