  1. Ok, i know that much of you want to have this memorable moment on their hard drive (or on a good quality video so you can burn it on a nice DVD). Since Youtube is deleting the opening ceremony vids very fast (i'm glad i practically resigned to Youtube, they would have deleted all my Beijing 2008 stuff).

The following links are to download the opening ceremony via Bittorrent. You will need the following programs (only one of them): uTorrent, Bitcomet or Bittorrent

Anyway here are the links (thanks to http://mininova.org/ ) ordered by preference. BEWARE, they are very heavy:

http://www.mininova.org/tor/1676625 - Full Opening Ceremony in High Definition. 3.26 Gigabyte.

http://www.mininova.org/tor/1676005 First hour of the Opening Ceremony - 328.57 MB

Thanks. Looks great. But, there's no sound.

  2. I'm watching it right now, halfway through the parade of nations and i can tell you it's a ton better than what CBC did.

Williams and Lauer are amazing this year, and NBC's coverage hardly cuts anything and it keeps the same flow the ceremonies had.

CBC completely butchered the opening this year.

Were you watching the same NBC coverage that I watched? It was HORRIBLE! Bob Costas is a fucking asshole! Matt Lauer is a fucking dick! He starts the broadcast saying "Let's leave the politics out of this". Five minutes later, he and Costas are talking politics.

In NBCs coverage the Olympic flag didn't go around the track. They broke away for a commercial about every 7 minutes. It seemed as though Costas and Lauer wanted the audience to boo certain countries during the Parade of Nations. Instead of talking about the athletes from the different countries, Matt Lauer would talk about his experiences in that country. Who fucking cares!? This isn't "Where in the World is Matt Lauer"!

The only time the coverage was good was when Costas and Lauer kept their mouths shut.

  3. Ί'm surfing the net, and I've found this video about the lighting of the flame in Barcelona.

    Was it a hoax?

    watch from 1:20 to 1:25.

What do you mean by "hoax"? Everyone who watched knew that the arrow didn't go directly into the cauldron. They most likely had the fuel pumping out of the cauldron on high. So that when the arrow flew past, KABOOM, instant flame.

  4. Why are folks so upset about a sneak peak of the opening ceremony? Do you close your eyes and plug your ears when a movie trailer comes on the television?

We're just curious. We love the olympics. Some of us can't get enough.

For those of us in the states, these sneak peak pics and videos are all we're going to see of the opening ceremony. Being that NBC does such a crappy job of covering the ceremony.

    PEACE!
