  1. wcf@dial.pipex.com is the e-mail I used. I don't know if the would appreciate the draw being leaked onto the internet but by e-mailing them they may send the draw to others
  2. Sent it as a PM. THE WCF have not shown it to anyone else. I sent them an e-mail asking to view it and they courteously replied
  3. Thank you all for your help. I may take my camcorder into the other events then. Was hoping to get a shot of Canada when I go to curling , but found out the curling draw (Emailed the WCF) and Canada is in a bye Oh well, great curling anyways
  4. I am thinking about bringing a camcorder to take in the sights and sounds of the Games.. Question is will security confiscate the camcorder at ticket entrance. I do not intend to tape the hockey or curling events, but I do not want to go back and forth to take in the action. Only event that I am thinking of taking camcorder into is for victory celebration at BC Place. Anyone who can assist me, it would be greatly appreciated. thank you
  5. I have a potentially dumb question. In addition to corporate and retail Olympic pins, I am interested in NOC pins for 2010 and 2012. Has anybody on here attempted to request pins from different NOCs and if so, were you successful? As well, is there a form letter format I can use to send to these NOCs. I have found success with snail mail with my corporate search but it would get rather expensive for letters and stamps. If anyone can assist me it would be greatly appreciated
  6. The only thing that comes to mind is the Cultural Olympiad.
  7. I registered for both coke and RBC. Chances are I won't be selected for either of them, but best to keep fingers crossed
  8. Just throwing it out there that they may have your name, and information scanned into the ticket, or some other security measures. Vanoc may not take the craigslist/ebay ad down. Whoever buys them from you may have a bone to pick with you if they get kicked out
  9. I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but VANOC is pretty much against scalping or giving the tickets away to others. In the fall, they will be setting up a resale system. If you do decide to give them to friends or family, they may be rejected at the door. From the Vancouver 2010 website: What if I buy tickets and then cannot attend the Games in 2010. Can I transfer or sell my tickets? We are developing an online ticket management program that will allow spectators who have purchased tickets but cannot attend to post their tickets for re-sale. A similar option is being explored where spectators will be able to donate tickets they cannot use to a local charity. The ticket management system will be available in mid 2009. Ticket holders must abide by the ticketing terms and conditions. The reselling of tickets through any source other than vancouver2010.com is prohibited and may result in tickets being invalidated.
  10. Fisher, I sent you a pm as to your request
  11. Hmm, my mistake. It just looked heavy, but ya, light, stylish, First Nations influence - big thumbs up
  12. I just looked at the sweaters and they look very nice, but if the roof has not been removed, the athletes will be wearing sweaters in a 75 degree stadium. Would be very hot for them
  13. This post is for Timo. I sent a e-mail to you as your PM box is full and have not got a reply. I am interested in trading pins with you
  14. With the news of Sakic likely retiring on Thursday, I wonder if the Canadaian brass will send an invite to Savard or another player http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283991
  15. This brings up an interesting question - would the IOC strip Pechstein/Germany of her medals like they did for Marion Jones and the other US athletes from the Sydney games
  16. Apparently Pechstein is firing back saying that the ISU was going to hush up about the doping test saying that she had an "illness" Things are going to get a whole lot messier now. http://www.ctvolympics.ca/speed-skating/ne...+goes+offensive
  17. I received a reply back from "Johnny" with CTV BC. I used the mailing address for Alexis Chicoine earlier in this thread and he was perplexed by it and he informed me that they do not have any of the standard inukshuk CTV pins left to send out. He did mention an 8 piece set that is being done currently. Unfortunately, since I do not live in BC he cannot and will not assist me. Is there anybody on the board who is collecting these pins and knows if/when the set will be sold. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to purchase 1. Adversely, if anyone is selling a spare set or individual pins please contact me by replying or sending a PM
  18. Prince Edward visited the Canadian sledge hockey team a couple of weeks back IIRC
  19. Looks like I will be getting a special Vancouver Sun pin for spotting the Air Canada livery om the Boeing 777 on Youtube www.vancouversun.com/insidetheolympics
  20. Part of the ticketing double speak, there is a thing that if you can't attend your event for ticket holders to sell back their tickets back to VANOC I see people selling tickets on ebay and the people that buy off their may end up on the short end From the website under ticketing info post purchase What if I buy tickets and then cannot attend the Games in 2010. Can I transfer or sell my tickets? We are developing an online ticket management program that will allow spectators who have purchased tickets but cannot attend to post their tickets for re-sale. 21. Update on the pins situation on my end: Confirmed: Ricoh and Sportsnet said they would send some Declined: Workopolis Spirit of BC - said sure we'll give some to you if I am in BC and attend an event. RBC No answer: Panasonic Birks Coca Cola (I get the iCoke ones) Bell City of Vancouver TSN CTV Swatch Canada Post General Mills
  22. Hi everybody. I am a new member and I am trying to collect and trade pins. I would be interested in trading olympic pins, But I am obtaining pins thruogh my MLA and MP and would be interested in trading some non Olympic pins to some people from outside my province and outside Canada. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
  23. Got tickets for Mens Curling and USA-NOR mens hockey. Also got a ticket for victory ceremony on the 18th. Procrastinated over a ticket to Canada -Switzerland and lost out, so hoping there will be a ticket or two when the resale happens. Not holding my breath, but would be a treat
  24. I would look at the hostels in Vancouver, 40$ a night (have to book for 2 consecutive nights and you have to order a membership ($35). Good luck. Another option is booking a hotel room in Victoria
