  1. This is the message we receive today from Cosport (for Canada) Dear CoSport Customer: This letter is to formally advise that during the initial ticket request phase, which ended on June 30, 2007, certain events for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games were oversubscribed. This means that we have more people requesting tickets for certain events than have been allocated by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) for sale in Canada. In order to allocate tickets for these oversubscribed events, we will conduct the lottery on Monday, October 29th. This lottery will

  5. Possibility of medals for Canada : 2 in Track in Field (but not gold) with Perditia Felicien and Tyler Christopher 3 or 4 in Swimming (but not gold), mostly in relay. Big improvment in the last two years since the arrival of the new head coach 1 in Gymnastic (possibility of gold), Kyle Shewfelt will be back 3 or 4 in Diving (possibilty of gold), two for Alexandre Despatie and the rest in women synchro (because china can not have more than one team) 2 or 3 in Wrestling (possibility of 3 gold), with the women team 1 in Mountain Bike (possibility of gold) with the return of Marie-Hélene Pre

Airplane ticket allready paid Montreal-Toronto-Shanghai and Beijing-Toronto-Montreal with Air Canada for 1817$CAN (I want to spent 5 days in Shanghai for visiting before the games) My flight with Air China for Shanghai to Beijing the 6th of august cost me 200$CAN Hotel booked and allready paid for Shanghai : Pacific Hotel just in front of Renmin Park at 85$ the night Then at Beijing, I found a place to stay at only 150$US a night at only 150 yards from a subway station and less then a mile to walk to Tianmen Square. 9. Hi everyone. It's easy to find a map with the itinery of the flame, but is there a place where we can find a timetable with the date ? Next year, before going to Beijing for the games, I will make a stop in Shanghai (from august 2th to august 6th). I'm just wondering if by any chance I will be there at the same time the flame will pass in Shanghai. Also, another question : Cosport advised a lot of us that we will receive our tickets confirmation before the end of september. Since we are very close, nobody have news from them if they will be on time ? (with no additional delay) I'm very e

  11. Having found this morning a old copy of the 96 Atlanta Games ticket request form, I was curious to compare the prices with the ones from Beijing. The sames events I asked from Cosport for Beijing earlier this week wich represent a total of 2,400$CAN should costed me in Atlanta 5,700$CAN (the exchange rate at that time was 1,40$CAN = 1,00$US) Some exemples of the most significants variations : Boxing (preliminaries) Beijing 16$CAN Atlanta 80$CAN Boxing (finals) Beijing 80$CAN Atlanta 312$CAN Gymnastic (qualifications) Bei

  13. Hi My question is for China Man I read recently in a website (sorry, i don't remember wich one, so I can not put here the link) that the subway line no 4 will not be in operation for the game. Can you confirm me that ? Since I allready started the proceed to buy my tickets for the events I choosed to attend, I'm a little bit worried. Not a big deal because I can always choose to take a cab from a venue to another. I'm just curious to know if that information is real or not (on other website, nothing said that the line 4 will not be ready for august 2008) The two times I selected to go to
  14. I still have outstandings memories of those games just like it was yesterday. I was in the stadium for the ten events of the decathlon won by Bruce Jenner. I was also there when the U.S. women's 4X100 leaded by Shirley Babashoff defeated finally Kornelia Ender and the east German team in the pool at the very last race of the very last night of the swimming events. The crowd, mostly americans, became nuts. Unfortunelly, I didn't buy any gymnastics tickets, so I miss all the Comanecci fever. It was great games. And one thing I realize now, since I saw few others games, is how the proximity o
  15. Since today On the official website of Beijing 2008, there's few hundreds differents pins available Lots of differents items too.
  16. There's somes available now on ebay Around ten differents ones.
  17. I'm very excited about that. I thing I will take a day off at work when the full schedule will be available. It's a thing to attend the game, but it's also a thing to planned and sheduled the competition to see. It's not an easy job having to consider not only the time schedule but also the geographic location of the venues. (and also planning time for visit The Great Wall, Summer Palace, Forbidden City, and all the others "must see")
  18. I don't think we will have the full schedule for all events during the next week. I copy here a text I just read in the International Track anf Field Federation website : The full timetable of the athletics events of Beijing 2008 will now go for approval by the IAAF Council whose next sitting takes place on 13 and 14 November 2006 in Monaco.
  19. Hi everyone This is my first post on this site. I am a proud of beeing a "french quebecois", but I'm also proud to be a canadian. I heard this story in the newspaper few weeks ago about the Quebec team for the Vancouver hockey tournament. Nobody in Quebec take that seriously. In fact, there was only a small paragraph in the Journal de Montreal and maybe a spot of no more than 30 seconds in the news on TV. We never heard about it or talked about it after that day. Everyone here agree that's it make non sense It's sure that's easy for us to imagine the line up of that "All Quebec" tea
