  1. This is a thread for Olympic venues whose construction or renovation has already been completed. The Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, the Reijing Shooting Range Hall, the Fengtai Softball Field, and the Workers Stadium have completed their construction work for the Games. I will be notified when any other competition venues have completed their construction or renovation work. This thread will last until the very last competition venue has been completed (or until August 8, 2008).
  2. If a second SARS outbreak occurs, we might have to get out the Chicken Noodle Soup, DayQuil, and Sprite.
  3. ...or they would have shifted the events to the Olympic Green Convention Centre. The Organising Committee wants to make sure that all events are held in China.
  4. Are the Youth Olympic Games bad? If so, then I like the Original Olympic Games better.
  5. A new rule should be made: A city can only host the Youth Olympic Games if it has already hosted the original Olympic Games (Summer or Winter) and/or some other big multi-sport event. (i.e. Pan-Am Games, Asian Games, All-Africa Games)
  6. At first I thought the damage to the Gymnasium was serious enough to omit the Table Tennis events from the sporting program of the 2008 Olympic Games. However, it has been reported that it was not serious and the Gymnasium will be repaired and finished in time for the Games and the Table Tennis events will still be held as planned.
  7. Can you think of any city in the world that is suitable to host a Summer or Winter Youth Olympic Games?
  8. If the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium has a new facade and roof constructed, which other competition venues are under renovation?
  9. There are no pictures of the Beijing Olympic Village.
  10. Will the Olympic Green Tennis Centre be a temporary venue?
  11. I already created an article on the Shunyi Olympic Rowing Canoeing Park: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shunyi_Olympic Rowing-Canoeing_Park://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shunyi...g-Canoeing_Park://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shunyi...g-Canoeing_Park://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shunyi...g-Canoeing_Park://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shunyi...g-Canoeing_Park
  12. The replacement for Wulihe Stadium has been announced. Its name is the Shenyang Olympic Sports Centre, sporting a main stadium seating 70000, a gymnasium seating 10000, a natatorium seating 4000, and an tennis field seating 4000. This complex is expected to heal Shenyang's wounds over the untimely loss of the 65000-seat Wulihe Stadium.
  13. Should Shenyang build a completely new 60000+-capacity stadium now that Wulihe Stadium is destroyed?
  14. I've never even heard of an NBA game taking place at Wukesons Indoor Stadium.
  15. What will these city villages be replaced with once they are destroyed?
  16. Vancouver-Seattle Olympics? Sorry, ain't gonna happen in our lifetimes.
  17. I fully support the Whitecaps Waterfront Stadium, but I don't want it to replace the "aging" BC Place Stadium. If Canada were to host a World Cup, the Waterfront Stadium, and BC Place world be used, although the stadium would have to increase capacity to 40,000 (the required capacity for a World Cup stadium).
  18. I also need detailed information on the Beijing Shooting Range Hall because I still do not know its seating capacity.
  19. DETAILED Information about the Rowing-Canoeing Park! The venue article on the Beijing 2008 website didn't have enough detailed venue information and the same goes for various other sites!
  20. I already used that link, but that page did not provide enough information! I searched news articles, search websites, but I found nothing!
  21. Venue:Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park Location: Mapo Village, Shunyi District, Beijing Functions during the Games: Rowing, Canoe/Kayak (Flatwater and Slalom racing) This is all the information I could find about the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park. I still need more information about the venue.
