  1. I really like this song, but I was cheering for the one that got second place -"Take our hearts" by Jesper- or Kenneth Potempa's "Reach for the sky" i LOOOOOVE this song so much... i heard it first on the CD of the MGP and I really liked it and live was much better... the only sad thing is that it got 3rd place on the semifinal so it will be difficult to win. I knew the logo of the ESC was kind of familiar to me... it's all Nagano. Anyway, I like it. And it was SO obvious they were going to put something with "fire" on the motto.
  2. I would be more worried about Chile 2017 U-20 WC. Three times in Latin America in less than 6 years seems be very difficult.
  3. Yesterday, Lionel Messi announced his support for Rosario, his birth town. The article says also that other bidding cities in Argentina are: San Luis, La Plata y Salta http://www.latercera.com/noticia/deportes/2012/01/656-419383-9-rosario-se-candidatea-para-organizar-panamericanos-2019-con-apoyo-de-messi.shtml
  4. I was looking for a nice pic of Santiago and I found this panoramic one... although big, I think it shows how amazing looks the Andes from the city Plaza de Armas, Santiago downtown
  5. Just found an interesting piece from last month. The director of the Sports National Institute presented the project of a new velodrome for the 2014 ODESUR Games in Peñalolén (a neighborhood of Santiago next to the Andes) supposed to be the "most modern in South America". And he said: "This will be the most emblematic venue of the ODESUR Games 2014, our test to get the PanAm 2019". There is also a video of the venue: http://www.cooperativa.cl/penalolen-tendra-el-velodromo-mas-moderno-de-sudamerica/prontus_nots/2011-11-22/150403.html
  6. ¡Feliz Navidad para todos!

  7. So, are we going to miss http://kimjongillookingatthings.tumblr.com/ ???
  8. I think they haven't said anything because their participation is kinda obvious. They are not going to miss Azerbaijan... would be like being at home.
  9. First, the Copa Sudamericana. Now, defeating UC at their home... closer to the Double Championship. Thanks Universidad de Chile for everthing!

  10. It seems the announcment of Poland withdrawing was from a TVP fake account on Facebook. The TVP said that they have not announced nothing officialy yet.
  11. Nice logo! IMHO, Rosario would be a much better option than La Plata, at least about what the city can offer...
  12. San José or Panamá would be good choices for 2023... Central America must host someday...
  13. Today, President Piñera announced the winner of the contest for the Citizens' Park that will surround the National Stadium. It is supposed that most of the works will be done by 2014 for the ODESUR Games and totally for the 2019 PanAm if we bid. Here is the video
  14. The only good thing about Chile in the past two years, now was screwed again
  15. The match against Uruguay was disgraceful. First, five players were expelled for drinking before the training... and now we have lost also the goalkeeper and the defenders. Borghi is doing such a terrible job. We can't have 10 goals against! Bielsa, please come back!
  16. Uruguay 4-0 Chile. I think we should move to OFC to stop these disgraceful moments

one blowout loss to the defending world cup bronze medalist is not bad. It happens ask Turkey.

Being defeated by Venezuela; then 4-1 to Argentina and then 4-0 to Uruguay. And playing terrible... that's the problem.

Oh I didn't realize the previous results.

  17. Three times in fact. 1975 was cancelled after the coup d'etat of 1973. As Ikarus said, the government was more worried about killing people. And I don't think they were able to paint in a few months all the National Stadium and clean all the blood on the walls. 1987 was cancelled after the March 1985 earthquake that destroyed a lot of places in and around Santiago. And the Second PanAm Winter Games were scheduled for 1995 in Santiago, but cancelled after Las Leñas 1991 was a big failure. About La Plata... Current government is much more capable of hosting the Games now than in the Menem era. And the help of the government saved last Copa América from a huge disaster. But... it won't have a good organization anyway. Not that bad... but not that good. And besides, La Plata could be one of the most boring cities around. Yes, the new Estadio Único looks awesome but I'm not sure they have all the facilities. And with a true cosmpolitan city like Buenos Aires so close, it seems a joke. It's like giving the Olympics to Newark.
  18. Here is a 2010 video I found with the venues of the 2014 ODESUR Games. Some of the venues are being renovated already, one example is the Court Central (here is how it looks now). http://www.3tv.cl/index.php?m=video&v=16329 The venues of the 2014 ODESUR Games will probably be the base of the Santiago bid.
  19. +1 To be honest, I haven't read a lot about the PanAms infraestructure but as far as I've seen, they looked pretty good. I haven't heard about complications or problems, so I think the organizers did a good job. I think for Chile, the results are a bit bittersweet. We had the biggest amount of medals ever (43), more than twice the number of 2007 and two more than the record at the 1st PanAm Games. The problem is that we only could get two gold medals. We ended in the 13th place even though we had 10 more medals than the 9th place and twiche the 10th place. In any case, I think we had great results and I hope the government invests more in the athletes for London and for the ODESUR Games. I think Colombian progress is a direct result of the investment done in the athletes for Medellin 2010.
  20. It's not an official rotation policy. San Antonio (USA) bidded for 2007 and Lima and Bogotá bidded for 2015.
  21. All the people criticize his moustache. I love him just the way he is, hahaha... and now he got a silver medal. Tomorrow, we'll be waiting for his deserved gold medal
  22. Tomás was so great... there was a lot of complain about the judges but even with that problem, he was able to bring the first medal ever in an All-Around event for Chile. Everybody was watching his floor performance here in Chile... such a cutie, I want to marry him, haha
  23. I don't mind about Brazil v. Canada competition... I just care about the Chilean team and today started the participation of my beloved Tomás González <3
  24. First Chilean gold. Well done Kristel
