... of course I will try to be here, but like I have already said, I can't promise...
-
I am not sure if I will be able to watch it live, since we have the national German ESC-final tonight, but I would like to know if somebody/how many is/are interested to do a live chat like for the Olympic Opening Ceremony?
-
your blog just ruled, seth!!
-
maybe I am saying something blasphemic now - this "incident" remembers me at worshipping a holy relic, but it is just a stick and a glove... will his e.g. helmet, his soxs, etc. etc. be worshipped too?
-
I hope that somebody else than David Atkins is planing the London Ceremonies - nothing against is work, but I just want to see something completely different...
-
I think Vancouver's might have been a collaboration of both DAE and Bombardier.
... maybe I am "blue-eyed", but I always thought that cauldron is an idea from the president or from the whole organisation team - let's say Sebastian Coe wants a cauldron for London, which looks like the Big Ben - after this decision the architects and the special effect team think about how the Big Ben cauldron is hidden and appear in the Opening Ceremony - I see more clear now...
-
Congratulations Seth! Well deserved - a thoughtful, informative, interesting and personal blog!
yeah - his personal blog was really great - it gave me the feeling to be in Vancouver myself!!!
-
DAE will be a contender for London for sure if Morton, Birch and Mischer submit less than stellar proposals. His saving the 4th leg fiasco of Opening in the Closing alone salvaged that gaffe.
I think Atkins (as with the others) did the best he could for his client, VANOC, and the limitations of BC Place. But I still was not sold with the design of the cauldron.
BTW. is DAE doing the Paralympics?
I just wonder if the creative director of the ceremonies is responsible for the design of the cauldron? I wonder if the design of the inside cauldron was the blueprint of the outside cauldron or the other way round?
-
Is the number of the sales during the Vancouver Olympics inflation-adjusted?
(I believe that the prices (for food, drink, clothes, etc. etc.) in Vancouver and Whistler went up during the Olympics)
-
I don't want to sound insensitive, but what happened to Eruedan and LA84? I haven't roamed the other forums over the past few years.
Rest In Peace.
Zeke (Ereudan) died just before the Torino Olympics in a car accident - Todd (LA84) died last year in january due a stroke
-

mr. x - you might haven't seen that question...

WE'LL EVEN ADD IN A BABY SEA OTTER AND ITS MOTHER!
yeah, I know - how far away are the kelp forrests from Vancouver? I love it when the baby otters lying on the belly of their mothers
-
Damnit world, we should have built a Berlin wall around the city so that you could never leave. It has been 24 hours since the Closing Ceremony ended and everyone I know is depressed and hung over.
COMEEEE BACCCKKKK WORLD!!! EVERYONE GETS A FREE BABY BEAVER TO TAKE HOME IF YOU STAY FOR ANOTHER 17 DAYS!
this baby beaver is really cute - first I said it should stay at its parents, but the longer time goes by the more I want it!!!
-
you can buy both albums on amazon.de as mp3 download too, but I have to admit that I am a little dissapointed "Maple Leaf Forever" seems to be a studio version - I prefer the live version
-
I edited the posts and you can see the pics now...
-
... the videos remind me totally on the Fifa World Cup 2006 in Germany ...

this pic seems not really spectacular, but during he bit on the silver medal one of David Möllers teeth broke and he had to go to the dentist in the Olympic Village = don't bite into your medal!!!!

sorry folks, I didn't hear my alarm clock and slept through and therewith I couldn't watch the live broadcast by the ZDF (Second German TV) - that makes me a little bit angry about myself...
And the worse is I just switched on ZDF for the slalom world cup decisions in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and had to learn that they just showed the highlights of the ceremony a second time and I missed it again...
