Opening ceremony 7.5/10 Closing ceremony 5/10 I was completely bored by the closing ceremony. The opening ceremony was actually very good but I ended p falling asleep before the end of the closing. Very dull. Congratulations Canada though on a superb games. Not the best I have seen but definitely one of the better ones.

@ towerbridge They sell a very similar cardigan in River Island - although it doesn't have the hideous collar like the one that the Canadian team are wearing.

No ads at all here with the BBC. I actually have a cardigan almost the same as the Canadian one. Although I think I slightly prefer the Canadian one. EDIT: Just seen it properly...it's hideous. Mine is much better.

I knew I recognised him. Allyn Condon in the GB 4 man bob was in our 4x100m winning team at the 2002 commonwealth games in Manchester. According to wikipedia he is only the 2nd Brit to have ever competed at both Summer and Winter Olympics. Making a mental note for future quiz nights. I wonder who was the first?

I've been out for the last 2 nights and not one sniff of a GB medal.

Was jumping for joy at 4am this morning when I came in from a night out and heard the news of Amy's Gold. My friend had texted me but I had to see it with my own eyes. First solo gold since Robyn Cousins win in 1980....WOW! Typical that it's the first evening coverage that I have missed and it just happens to be the night we win a medal. Tut!

I honestly don't believe it. That'll teach me for having no faith. I thought Amy was going to choke after the first 2 rounds so I decided to go out last night. Then my friend texted me while I was slightly worse for wear, that she had taken gold. I couldn't believe it. Typical! I watch almost every waking hour of the coverage without even a sniff of a GB medal and the one day that I go out..... Congratulations Amy Williams!

Congratulations Vancouver. Some real highlights there - and some lowlights,too. A real shame about the cauldron. Although I have never liked the idea of 2 cauldrons. I guess it coldn't be helped with an indoor venue. Of all things to get wrong though. Surely you would test those hydraulics over and over again. Anyway, I absoltely loved the cultural section. The lighting and effects rivalled Beijing. Just wonderful. Congratulations and good night/good morning/good afternoon everyone. It's been a pleasure sharing it with you.

I will have to watch this opening ceremony all over again tomorrow. It's been fun chatting on here but I bet I have missed loads because of it.
