  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/37140834 How can you disqualify someone with no evidence? These athletes work for 4 years only to get kicked out by an official who thinks he may have seen an infringement but can't prove it. Brazil now make the final. This has tainted the end of these otherwise very successful games for GB.
  2. Look after yourself, Martin. I would have the same problems with the heat.
  3. Manchester and London to host Olympic celebrations. Great choice! I will be there in Manchester. These games have been extraordinary for GB. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37136717

  5. It's 4am here and I just yelled like a lunatic when DaSilva went over. That's what the games are about. Best moment of the games. Congratulations Brazil!
  6. What a vile, unpleasant place this forum has become. Have some of you heard yourselves? You do realise that most of what some of you are displaying here amounts to not much more than bullying, abuse and intimidation? You come here for fun? Grow the hell up!!! It is quite obvious that many of you are enjoying the current situation with Tony. Tony could try the patience of a saint - granted - but I think after a while you have to just ignore those that you conflict with. I came here originally to learn and share thoughts with likeminded people on a common interest. I am sure many of you did the
  7. I loved, and will always love, the London opening ceremony. There were segments i liked more than others. The going out segment was pretty bad but the industrial revolution segment blew me away. I also loved the London bombings tribute. The closing was less of a success for me but still very entertaining. I tend to prefer the structure of an opening ceremony. Closing ceremonies seems a little chaotic in comparison. Manchester did an amazing job considering their budgets. Glasgow seemed like they didnt even bother in comparison. The opening was Ok but the closing was a big mess. Awful.
  8. Manchester did not have a huge budget but still managed a show that wowed. I just found the Glasgow closing to be artistically poor. I am all for reducing the ridiculous amounts spent on some opening ceremonies. However, they do have a purpose...and that purpose is to entertain. I wasn't entertained.
  9. Pretty much a perfect games in terms of hospitality, crowds, venues and good organisation. The only thing that I can fault were the 2 ceremonies. The opening was below average, but the closing was dire. Full marks for the gay kiss though.
  10. Who said anything about wanting it bigger and more flashy than before? However, this was a closing ceremony of a major sporting event and I would have expected a little more effort into presenting a show. I didn't like the opening ceremony but at least I could appreciate the effort and human spirit of what was presented.
  11. This is absolutely the worst closing ceremony I have ever seen. No effort made whatsoever apart from hiring Kylie. Switching off now, to watch some paint dry.
  12. Kylie love, stick to the dancey stuff. Your voice is far too nasal for the slow songs.
  13. The stage looks more like Romania's got talent than the Glasgow Commonwealth closing.
  14. The humiliation of being caught on camera stuffing chips down your neck to Kylie.
  15. Thanks heavens for Kylie. Although even she may not be able to polish this turd. Wrong song choice, your disco needs you or better the devil you know would have really raised the roof. Bet she does on a night like this.
  16. I think that guy likes botox even more than Glasgow. Did you not see the Manchester and Melbourne closing ceremonies? You can do low budget and still put on a show.
  17. What's wrong with you people on here these days. I have laughed my way through the last half hour and yet nobody on here has commented how naff and crap this closing ceremony is. The Gold Coast handover was supposed to be the saving grace but thats even worse, sooooo cheesy. They're even rehashing the song they used for Eurovision. It has been a great games, well done Glasgow. However, the ceremonies have been absolutely awful.
  18. Armenia and Azerbaijan need to be thrown out of Eurovision. What they did last night was disgraceful, especially Armenia. Every single jury member in Armenia voted Azerbaijan last, and vice versa. Also, they placed each other last in the their respective televotes. It gets worse, Armenia also placed nearly every single favourite for the contest in its bottom 6 positions. They wanted to win so much with Aram Mp3 that they couldn't even bring themselves to play fair, shameful...absolutely shameful. Here are their bottom results: 20th - Ukraine 21st - Uk 22nd - Sweden 23rd - Hungary 24th
  19. Can't say I am a fan of the Digital Spy Eurovision forum. Too much rubbish written in between the interesting posts. You need to be reading it several times a day to keep up with it and after a short while it gets very tedious. I mean, there seems to be a competition for everything on that site. Miss a week and you have to read through all kinds of rubbish to find an an interesting snippet. I have another forum I use that I will keep secret. The people are much more informed and concise and you can easily refer to it in a hurry. I am sorry Beth, forgive me for not consulting you before decidi
  20. First video footage of stage during technical run through. It's very heavy on use of LED's http://www.pudelek.tv/video/UBIJANIE-MASLA-na-probie-do-Eurowizji-5062/
  21. My votes: 1 point - Italy 2 points - San Marino 3 points - Spain 4 points - Sweden 5 points - Norway 6 points - Austria 7 points - Greece 8 points - UK 10 points - Israel And the big 12........ 12 points - Denmark!
  22. Spain would have had it in the bag had they chosen Brequette - she was incredible. Ruth has a good voice but tends to be guilty of massively over singing a song. The UK has one of the best songs this year but I don't quite see it as a winner. I think it will come around 5th. Denmark could be the surprise winner for me. He really performs well and the song has that instant effect. I fear Israel will be the surprise flop. It's a great song and she performs well but I can't see Eastern Europe voting for that kind of song. Hungary, Sweden and Armenia are all sure to do well but again, I do
