  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/37140834 How can you disqualify someone with no evidence? These athletes work for 4 years only to get kicked out by an official who thinks he may have seen an infringement but can't prove it. Brazil now make the final. This has tainted the end of these otherwise very successful games for GB.
  2. Look after yourself, Martin. I would have the same problems with the heat.
  3. Manchester and London to host Olympic celebrations. Great choice! I will be there in Manchester. These games have been extraordinary for GB. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37136717

  5. It's 4am here and I just yelled like a lunatic when DaSilva went over. That's what the games are about. Best moment of the games. Congratulations Brazil!
  6. What a vile, unpleasant place this forum has become. Have some of you heard yourselves? You do realise that most of what some of you are displaying here amounts to not much more than bullying, abuse and intimidation? You come here for fun? Grow the hell up!!! It is quite obvious that many of you are enjoying the current situation with Tony. Tony could try the patience of a saint - granted - but I think after a while you have to just ignore those that you conflict with. I came here originally to learn and share thoughts with likeminded people on a common interest. I am sure many of you did the same. However, for some time now this website seems to offer nothing more than just a place to score childish points. I found this website was starting to bring the worst out in me around the time of the 2012 games. I had a realisation back then that I was getting more stressed than fulfilled by the petty nature of Gamesbids. That was a few years back, it has gotten so much worse. I look around now and am so glad to have left when I did. I have not been around these forums much for the last few years, maybe just once every other month to have a brief look around at the news. I can't believe some of the abuse I have been reading. I also can't believe it has been left to fester by the moderators and Rob Livingstone himself. It is tiring to read for me, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for regular members who are not involved in the bickering. It seems most of the good people who used to post here have abandoned ship leaving only a handful of good people still around from the days when these forums offered a real purpose. It seems that many of the new members have picked up on the negativity of the forums and decided to just run with the theme. It is very obvious when you don't post here regularly and are able to step back and see the bigger picture. You only get one life. Do you really want to spend days of your life just arguing, fighting and bickering over who is right and who is wrong? That being said, something definitely needs to be done to help Tony and subsequently the existing members here who just want to debate Olympic matters. He seems a troubled chap and as someone else said on this forum - not sure who it was - I think Tony will be happier for having his access taken away from him. Even if he doesn't quite realise that himself. It can't be good for a young lads self esteem to be the butt of so much vitriole and ridicule, even if he often provokes it. Can I also say that whilst Tony is English, he does not speak for an entire nation. I would appreciate it if some of you took that on board before abusing an entire nation to score some cheap points. It isn't pleasant to read and says more about you than anything else. I fully expect some retaliative replies to come my way in retaliation to this post . I will not be responding to them. I no longer care for most of the people on this website and therefore do not want to get drawn into a long, childish argument. However, I do think what I have said needed saying, allthough I fully suspect it wll fall on deaf ears. Adios.
  7. I loved, and will always love, the London opening ceremony. There were segments i liked more than others. The going out segment was pretty bad but the industrial revolution segment blew me away. I also loved the London bombings tribute. The closing was less of a success for me but still very entertaining. I tend to prefer the structure of an opening ceremony. Closing ceremonies seems a little chaotic in comparison. Manchester did an amazing job considering their budgets. Glasgow seemed like they didnt even bother in comparison. The opening was Ok but the closing was a big mess. Awful.
  8. Pretty much a perfect games in terms of hospitality, crowds, venues and good organisation. The only thing that I can fault were the 2 ceremonies. The opening was below average, but the closing was dire. Full marks for the gay kiss though.
  9. Armenia and Azerbaijan need to be thrown out of Eurovision. What they did last night was disgraceful, especially Armenia. Every single jury member in Armenia voted Azerbaijan last, and vice versa. Also, they placed each other last in the their respective televotes. It gets worse, Armenia also placed nearly every single favourite for the contest in its bottom 6 positions. They wanted to win so much with Aram Mp3 that they couldn't even bring themselves to play fair, shameful...absolutely shameful. Here are their bottom results: 20th - Ukraine 21st - Uk 22nd - Sweden 23rd - Hungary 24th - Austria 25th - Azerbaijan pretty much all of the bookies favourites alongside Azerbaijan. Iam starting to wonder whether this competition has a future in its present form. There have been so many rule changes and yet still some countries are blatant in their attempts to rig the contest. Armenia will never gain a vote from me.
  10. Can't say I am a fan of the Digital Spy Eurovision forum. Too much rubbish written in between the interesting posts. You need to be reading it several times a day to keep up with it and after a short while it gets very tedious. I mean, there seems to be a competition for everything on that site. Miss a week and you have to read through all kinds of rubbish to find an an interesting snippet. I have another forum I use that I will keep secret. The people are much more informed and concise and you can easily refer to it in a hurry. I am sorry Beth, forgive me for not consulting you before deciding to post a few more things on gamesbids. :-) The problem for me is that gamesbids does not let you cancel membership. I just can't resist popping in to read the London legacy thread but rarely post anything except eurovision at this time of year. Although even that has died a death on this forum. I wont even go into the ridiculousness I have been reading over the last week on gamesbids. Well maybe a little rant, it wouldn't be me if I didn't. Bullying? Grow the hell up. If you like to antagonise and get off on hearing your name discussed on a daily basis, then you reap what you sow. Don't like it? then go. The only thing that concerns me more than the mods reaction, are the Disney threads, truly bizarre. What has this forum descended into? The only thing that makes it bearable these days is the odd fight, and now you can't even do that. How dull to just listen to a load of liberals(in the British sense) trying to calmly debate every thread and make everyone follow the rules and see things the same way. I must admit I don't see the appeal of forums as much as I used to. I have a few Eurovision geek friends and a partner who is as eurovision obsessed as me, that pretty much renders eurovision forums almost redundant for me. My friends/partner are all at least sane and have a point of view worth listening to. I went to the Eurovision final in Dusseldorf and had an amazing time. I loved the atmosphere and the show itself but have to say, most Eurovision fans attending these events are the strangest people I have ever met. Not to mention obnoxious, childish and lacking of manners. It's like your worst gay club, but with no hot guys to compensate. Anyway, I'm off now to enjoy my bank holiday weekend. I may post here again, I may not. It all depends on how bored I am. I am both gay and Gemini after all, changing my mind like the wind.
  11. First video footage of stage during technical run through. It's very heavy on use of LED's http://www.pudelek.tv/video/UBIJANIE-MASLA-na-probie-do-Eurowizji-5062/
  12. Spain would have had it in the bag had they chosen Brequette - she was incredible. Ruth has a good voice but tends to be guilty of massively over singing a song. The UK has one of the best songs this year but I don't quite see it as a winner. I think it will come around 5th. Denmark could be the surprise winner for me. He really performs well and the song has that instant effect. I fear Israel will be the surprise flop. It's a great song and she performs well but I can't see Eastern Europe voting for that kind of song. Hungary, Sweden and Armenia are all sure to do well but again, I don't see either of them as winning songs. However, it's probably most likely that our winner will come from one of these 3. Greece and Poland will definitely pick up lots of votes. Latvia will not.
  13. I've been to Glasgow, keep hold of your wallets people.
  14. Some of you older members deserve a medal for trying to keep this website going. It's been dying a slow painful death for some time now.

  16. Atmosphere in Olympic stadium tonight is just crazy. Would love to be there right now.

  17. Just over an hour before the paralympic opening ceremony begins.

  18. Lots of Olympic references for Manchester Pride parade this year.

  19. I've been checking several times daily for 2 weeks for tickets and yet nothing. They seem to only release tickets during the day when I am at work. They never give prior warning and tickets sell out in a matter of minutes. Really frustrating.
  20. This helps ease the post Olympic blues
  21. I am so excited about Kate Bush performing. A remix of coming up that hill I hear. Wow!
  22. crowds for the men's marathon are huge!

  23. The crowds for the marathon are huge, through every part of the course. I expected as much but wonderful to see. London looks stunning, so much history and so many landmarks.
  24. What a bunch of assholes on this forum. No wonder lots of people are leaving, you complete bunch of moaning pricks. Everyone I saw from overseas whilst I was in London was calling these the best games they have ever been to. On here all you read is moaning and negativity. Some of you need some joy in your lives. I actually doubt whether some of you really care about the spectator experience of these games, but more about what colour the fabric of the volunteers uniforms is or the overusage of...
