  1. However, the intensity on BOCOG and China to prepare for these Games will be high. I'm confident that the Games will be ready on time, but it will be a trying time on Chinese resolve on other things, if you know what I mean. As we get closer to opening day, this forum will get more busier.
  2. Now that the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games is over, the next immediate focus of the Olympic Movement is the upcoming Beijng 2008 Olympic Games up to the opening day of August 8, 2008. Let's just say that things will get interesting one way or the other. For those who want to see the official website for Beijing 2008, come here: Official Website Of The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
  3. Sullivan is there in Torino now. As for the rest of the Vancouver presentation team, good luck to you people.
  4. Now that the opening ceremony is done, it will be great to see the Vancouver presentation. Of course, some of us could have quite a say about Avril here.
  5. Since my last post here and with the Olympic Flame returning to Cortina d'Ampezzo today, FIVE more Torino 2006 Olympic torches were successfully sold. One of them had a starting price of just $1 US. The highest price sold is still $1,822 US. However, the cheapest price ever sold so far for this kind of item was $999 US.
  6. Don't ask me, Kendegra. I was offended by some of us here commenting on Rogge's accent then in 2003. Like, so what? Anyway, it was his first host-city announcement regarding the Olympic Games to the general public. But, now to think about it, no one said anything bad about his speeches at SLC 2002, which were his first ones as IOC president. His take on the Greek language for Athens 2004 was marvelous. It will be no different, when he starts talking some sentences in Italian for Torino 2006.
  7. well, Zits-u-know-who made his world debut instead! Kinda equals Avril's upcoming gig for Vankoofuh. Baron, it will be interesting on how Rogge will say "Vancouver" in his Torino 2006 closing ceremony speech. Some of us did made fun of his accent then, when he announced the city as the winner back in July 2003. Are accent not acceptable anymore? He's Belgian. Give him a break. Hey. I didn't mind it.

  9. Oh, boy. :wwww: First, she got to do that IOC commercial for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Now, this.
  10. I haven't really caught up with which venue is where for Beijing 2008. Where is it in relation to the "nest?" By the way it looks, it could be a "training venue", right? Well, I will most likely to see it on TV, when the time comes to see it.
  11. Since the last post here and with 4 weeks to go before the Torino 2006 opening ceremony, FOUR Torino 2006 Olympic torches were successfully sold in eBay. The high range has been extended to US$1,822. (By the way, that Torino 2006 Olympic torch that had a very low starting price, the final sale price ended up in the usual price range.)
  12. That makes sense now. I guess that the usual stadium in Beijing will host the IAAF World Junior Athletics Championships. I forgot what the name is, but I know it has to be that one.
  13. Chances are good that the "Lethern" flag will make its presence known at the Torino 2006 closing ceremony to me in some way.
  14. With one month to go before the Torino 2006 Games begin, will there be any changes to the forums site?
  15. i haven't known this by now. It said that will be a big international event or games of track and field. Well, Xu, the "nest" better be finished before August of this year, if this is going to be true. Why? You said about a track and field championship. Believe it or not: it is. Beijing is supposed to host the 2006 IAAF World Junior Athletics Championships in August.
  16. I think it has been mentioned, but Xu, once the stadium is finished, what will be held first there before the Olympic Games?
  17. I hope these venues are built well. I really don't know why the BBC at the time made somewhat a big deal about a road collapse in the Chinese capital recently.
  18. When will the whole team go to Torino to rehearse their show? Since the stadium at Torino will only be used for the Olympic ceremonies, it shouldn't be too difficult to prepare to go there and get some practicing going.
  19. Well, GBModerator, now that the year 2006 has arrived at your part of the world, I think it is time to update your copyright information for this website. ::
  20. Correction from initial post made here. I'm seeing it now! I can't believe it! What is this person thinking?? ??? Baron, at this time, it is at the US$12 mark. Also, 9 bids have been made so far here. As well, there are 2 other ones on sale at this time. For those interested in getting to see what other Torino 2006 Olympic torches and related items that may interest you in eBay, I'll post this link: Link Of course, it will depend on where you are and if they are available to you by the seller in question.
  21. Well, the sales that occurred have been impressive. Ranges of final sales for the Torino 2006 Olympic torches so far go from US$1,196 to US$1,425. And, yes, the number of bids seen has been as high as 50 for one of them.
  22. Correction from initial post made here. I'm seeing it now! I can't believe it! What is this person thinking?? ???
  23. I think the chief reason for it right now is the way the Torino 2006 Olympic torches have been going through at this time. All the ones that have been in eBay so far, including the ones that I couldn't put links here for some reason, have been USED in the relay so far. It is more likely that the ones that have NOT BEEN USED, which there will be some in eBay in the near future, are being "put on hold" at this time. Of course, it is by chance on how the Olympic torches of the past will be on sale and who is willing to buy them. Besides, I have seen cases of Olympic torches in the past being sold "at lower prices." So, I wouldn't worry about the perceived lower prices of the Athens 2004 ones yet. I'm sure that it will pick up eventually.
  24. It should be one of the show venues of London 2012, but will it be ready in time for the 2006 FA Cup final? Constructor Admits Wembley Doubts
  25. My hearing needs real checking. Did I hear correctly from a news source that at least one venue for Beijing 2008 is finished NOW?
