Just thought it was fun to talk about places in the world outside of the traditional places in Europe, NA and East Asia that could host the winter games. I'm not saying that this countries should or will host the olympics, but technically they could in terms of climate, ski resorts etc.
I belive this countries could have hosted the winter olympics:
India- mountain regions in northern - India
Iran- Ski resorts in the mountains, such as Dizin. Teheran could have hosted the games with the mountains regions.
Pakistan - Same as India with the mountains.
New Zealand - We all know of this one.
Australia - Not sure if they have what it takes for the alpine events, though they have hosted the alpine skiing WC before.
Argentina - Same as with NZ and Australia. They have the mountains in Patagonia.
Chile - They also have the mountains.
Lebanon - They have some decent ski resorts.
Azerbaijan - Ski resorts in the Caucasus.
Armenia - Same as with Azerbaijan.
Turkey- Erzurum.
Georgia - Bakuriani, Borjomi.
Afghanistan - Good mountains there.
Central asian states of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan - They have the snowy mountains with ski resorts. Not so sure about Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, but Kyrgyzstan at least could pull it off.
North Korea- Uncertain about this one, but they have winter and mountains. When South Korea could do it, I guess North Korea can aswell.
Morocco - They also have a ski resort in the Atlas mountains I belive, but I don't think it would be enough for a winter olympics game.
There are also ski resorts in Greece and Cyprus, but as with Morocco not enough for a game.
Georgia,Turkey, NZ, Australia, Argentina and Chile could perhaps host some time in the far future, but obviously none of the other places will never host a winter olympics. Though they might have what it takes to pull it off.
Did I forget someone?
Just for fun.
