  1. You know that you are in trouble when even Texas, a red state is laughing at you. Dallas Stars, I love you.
  2. The Press Secretary yesterday was beyond belief. Trump said the world was laughing at us, and now, I think its safe to say that he is absolutely right. Most attended ever? Get the **** out of here. Multiple sources and live camera feeds showed the exact same thing.
  3. Electoral Vote. Understand that under a regual popular vote scenario, Trump lost, big time.
  4. Los Angeles surpasess the globe at the Women's march. No other City even came close...period.
  5. The 2nd Annual 420 Games @ Los Angeles are taking place on the Santa Monica Pier April 1st. Tickets start at $4.20
  6. The three times I've been to Paris, it almost seemed to be overwhelmingly tourist, and a large percentage of them Chinese. And the locals just seemed so tired and kind of over it. It's such a large tourist population and the majority don't speak their language. I could feel their frustration. I tried so hard to not speak English the entire time, but my broken French was all they needed to hear.
  7. I just realized the Hollywood sign is all lit up with those iconic search lights. Nice touch, hopefully those bastard homeowners near the foothills don't raise a fuss.
  8. Tar, how inspiring. Lol. I get it, but I don't like it. And maybe that's what they were going for, a building no one will like, in which case they nailed it.
  9. I don't know who the hell dropped the ball there, but man its bad. Its such an opportunity to put something truly iconic and this was it? And black!? In a city with such vibrant colors, they dropped a black sheet of metal over a heavily used corrider. Bleh. If it were up to me I would fire the entire staff and design team and start over.
  10. 15 years!?
  11. I absolutely loathe the new LACMA design. Absolutely hideous. I agree. Lucas Museun looks cool IMO and actually intergeates parkspace into it, but I am with you on LACMA, so god damn ugly.
  12. I have learned that almost everything is better on TV than in real life. NY Times Square Ball Drop, Macy's Fireworks Show, Basketball Games, some concerts, etc. With that said, I would very much like to be in the seats of either stadium TBH. I feel torn beause I love the history at the Coliseum and its open air design, but also want to see the actual cauldron being lit at the new Stadium. Parade of nations can be a bore, especially when the countries you cared to see already passed. But the spectacle before and after that is what has most people glued to the TV.
  13. Creative is where LA can come in strong. Logistically, it won't be easy, but it also won't be impossible. The Bid group has the luxury of focusing a majority of their time on the games experience since construction for them is ALMOST non existent. Shutting down major LA through ways/streets is also not a tough thing to do. It routinely shuts down entire sections of the city already for Marathons, 5/10/15K runs, the CicLAvia events and other large festivals. Of course integrating it into an Olympic ceremony is a first of its kind, but again, it has the luxury of 7 years. I am certain they can figure it out in less than a year.
  14. The Coliseum ceremonies are not the formal ones and should therefore not carry with it the pricetag of the formal ceremonies or parade of nations. It should be a cheaper alternative for those who could not get into the CoC Stadium. Also, it would be almost a down right crime to not integrate the Coliseum as part of the opening or closing ceremonies.
  15. Ok slow your roll. They are pretty clear on that. One is to pay homage to the Coliseum, site of the 1932 and 1984 Opening ceremonies, and the other, is to show the future of LA. My only concern is that they paint a very rosy picture of the distance between the two.
  16. 170K Spectators between the two stadiums, that's a lot of ticket sales. Lol. And you know they will sell out.
  17. Its LA. They can pull a ceremony out lf their ass if they had to. If there is on thing its not short on is event production/management companies or staff.
  18. LA City Leaders are now worried that Olympic members may want to have the opening/closing ceremonies at the new Inglewood Stadium. The voted to get a power of veto in the matter. Not looking good for them.
  19. Transportation in LA should be a non isssue should they be awarded the games. I remember flying into LA during their 405 closure. I had never seen such widw open freeways in my life. It looked eerily empty. But when I arrived downtown the trains were pretty busy. People heeded the warning and the whole thing went off without a hitch.
  20. ^^^Then Again, it depends on what route you take.
  21. Actually, If I am not mistaken. The Coliseum and the new Inglewood Stadium are about the same distance from UCLA. Plus or minus less than a mile.
  22. Chargers, lol. So LA gets two shitty NFL teams. The only team Angelenos still seem to have a devotion to is the Raiders.
  23. Not explicitly, you you are using his words as a justification for some of the ridicule I have received. Let's be fair. We need to watch who we direct our aggression at.
