  1. And finally, from 0:34 to 0:56, the access for players to the field, before the reform. This is the only existing tunnel in Maracanã.
  2. It is not a kind of personal prefference. Funk is ugly for itself. Technically speaking, music is made up of three elements: rhythm, melody and harmony. The less melody and harmony you have, less sophisticated the music is. Needless to say that the funk is purely repetitive beats. Funk has been imposed on children and adolescents by drug dealers. It does not belong to Rio's popular culture. Few funk lyrics could be seen as interesting. Few ones. But even these few "interesting" ones are compromised when you realize that the Rio’s funk culture’s great stimulators are the drug lords, that prostitution of children and adolescents in the funk dances these criminals promote or support is immense. This discourse that the funk is a cultural expression of marginalized people, of people who do not have opportunities, is rudimentary and has no basis. There are many social works done in slums in which children are given the opportunity of a healthy contact with the sophisticated musical art. Putting the funk in the OC is a moral irresponsibility. It will only increase the number of children and adolescents who feel themselves legitimized and applauded by following what drug dealers want them to do. It will be a slap in the face of the Brazilian nation and an unprecedented international shame. This point of view is not only mine. It is shared by the overwhelming majority of our population, especially by parents of children and adolescents who, unaware of what the implications are, surrender themselves to the will of the same criminals who curtail their freedom by isolating them inside the dirty world of the same outlaws that have the city under siege

  4. Not to say that it was broadcasted today by Globo, Globo News. An entire segment on this subject. But at this point, Oooswald, after having seen soo many wrong choices (wrong ones, IMO, I mean), so many opportunities lost, so much money involved, I have no great expectation regarding the OC. If there is funk in I am out. And there will be funk there. A lot of. Also, as much as I am aware, the Anthem perfomed by Paulinho da Viola - nothing against him, but , with the due respect, let's be honest- Anita, Caetano Veloso... Frankly, they couldn't be more mistaken.
  5. The Brazilian National Anthem should be presented in version for orchestra and chorus. Otherwise, it gets depleted and loses its sumptuousness. It is a pity that the OC organizers do not think so. Here a rendition for orchestra, perfomed by the Symphonic Orchestra of the State of São Paulo.
  6. I think the first and the second ones are great. The last one, I'm not sure. However, the choice should be given to the winner.
  7. These white and round structures. In one of then Brazilian and the Olympic flag will be hoisted. In the other, the flags of the other nations.
  8. El Moutawakel says: “I have been visiting Rio regularly since 2009, and I love the Cariocas, and the Brazilians in general. They are a very warm and hospitable people, who know how to welcome guests and how to live life to the fullest. Spectators visiting Rio this August will be able to fully experience that spirit, as they go to the venues, visit the live sites and discover the city. The Cariocas are going to be celebrating, and this means that Rio de Janeiro will be the place to be this August. The Brazilians have also transformed the city through a legacy vision that they have made a reality. Not just by delivering all the venues and services that the Games require on time, but also by creating a legacy that will benefit local citizens and the whole country fordecades. The success of these Games will be their success.” Paul says: El Moutawakel says: “I have been visiting Rio regularly since 2009, and I love the Cariocas, and the Brazilians in general. Of course, that would be better not having them. But and then? 4) Members of the Security forces working in Rio were given a 150% increase in their wages. 5) Do you really know Brazil? I doubt it. Have you realized what you said about the skydivers? FGS, man, you'd better showing the country your simpathies. BUT YOU? YOU ARE THE GUY. A BLOODY, NASTY, DIRTY AND INCONCLUSIVE NEWSPAER SHEET IS MUCH MORE TRUSTWORTHY FOR YOU THAN THE STATEMENT OF SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN WORKING IN THE PREPARATIONS FOR ALMOST SEVEN YEARS.
  9. I can´t remember. You were right then, anyway.
  10. Rio's Mayor said yesterday the cauldron at the port area and the cauldron in Maracana are to be lit simultaneously. Regarding the port area's cauldron, he said that there will be water in it and that it will have a considerable height.
  11. Santos Dummont's 14 bis is to fly over RJ during the OC, showing Rio's posts cards. During the flight, we are going to listen to Tom Jobim's "Samba do Avião" .http://oglobo.globo.com/esportes/abertura-dos-jogos-tera-santos-dumont-voo-do-14-bis-pelo-rio-19720568 Samba do Avião: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aK-k0SstIJQ
  12. I think some songs are quite predictable: Samba do Avião, Garota de Ipanema, Cidade Maravilhosa (the last one is likely to be used at the end of the OC, I guess). But it is also quite predictable we are going to have some dirty funk as well.
  13. It seems that the mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes, is suffering from a type of premenstrual tension, to say pre-game tension. It seems that only now he came to understand the size of the task ahead of him. These will be two months of nerves on edge. He should do two things: shut up and take some clonazepam. Or, relax and ...
  14. Até que enfim! Antes tarde que nunca! Torci muito. Agora falta a Copa do Mundo.
  15. Black blocks never faill. Can anyone help us to "read" this picture? 14 bis-is just behind the guy. Well, well, well, there is, it seems, a sort of space between the field and the stage. Baron, what are those structures like Stonehenge over there for? What do you think? Is there anything else?
  16. Do you really think so? Again, I think the floor is flat and there is no tunnel there. What makes you think so?
  17. If you are a selfmade man, if you have reached a good economical position, between the poorest social classes and the richest ones - you are a midle-cassed guy. There is nothing wrong in this. But some people believe the government is the one supposed to take for them the steps they don't take. Then, they blame you, treat you with sarcastic, always criticizing you for you success.
  18. Then, that might lead to the idea of a rising sun behind the mountais and favelas.
  19. If If it is indeed th cauldron, it seem it too close to the stands and to the roof. What do you think?
