  1. Brazil won much more medals than 2012, 43 in 2012 vs 72 in 2016, but in 2012 were 21 gold and only 14 this year

  2. I try my best to put an equal amount of time and energy into both sets of Games. Even though the seven weeks of commitment, the 120+ pages of work, and the 100+ hours of viewing was a bit exhausting, I can say it was worth it! (It's also a heavy case of me not wanting to miss anything!) Thank you to the great athletes from the United States and other parts of the globe for two exceptional sporting events! PyeongChang is 507 days away! On a sidenote: I tried to post pictures from the journal I was taking, but I don't think I can do it from my phone!

  3. I was really expecting us to be in the top 5. Maybe in 2020. Anyways, it was a pretty nice evolution in the total of medals.

  4. Sorry for the delay, but my phone, again, f%@$ me during the final part of the event (I hate android). 6. I guess a truly historic moment approaches - the very final moment of Brazil's three years in the focus of the sports world, with the 2013 Confed Cup, the 2014 World Cup and now the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Troublesome, but I hope also amazing years for the country!

  8. The Los Angeles Sports Arena is being demolished, to be replaced by the LAFC's Banc of California Stadium. I'm usually nostalgic about old buildings, but I'm actually not saddened that the LA Sports Arena is being knocked down. I think it should've been demolished after USC basketball moved to the Galen Center. Yeah, it's historic---the 1960 Democratic Convention was held there; it was the boxing venue during the 1984 Summer Olympics; various big name bands and performers had concerts here... I saw Madonna's Blonde Ambition Tour here in 1990. But the Sports Arena has been
