  1. Going to Eurovision for the first time was the most incredible experience of my life and I am so glad I did it.

  2. I'm tending to agree with you now. A few months ago I was giving the Norwegian bid some slack, hoping that if Tokyo could turn round poor (though admittedly better than Oslo's) support figures, then so could Oslo. But these numbers are going in very much the wrong direction. What a shame.

  3. I disagree. It isn't just "lesser" support. They've only got 30% in favor! As Moderator Rob has pointed out, based on his statistical analysis bids with 50% or less support have all been doomed. Bids with 60% or higher were all on relatively equal footing (in other words there's not any discernible advantage to having 90% public support rather than 65% public support). No, going back to China won't solve the IOC's PR problem. However, the IOC can easily say, "Hey, we didn't really have much of a choice. They were the best available option. And at least we could reuse a few of the 2008 venues.

It's like an slow and painful death for this Oslo Norway 2022 bid it just painful just to watch this like the Glasgow ceremonies was, This is not good news at all for the bid, Once they pull out it will be I told you so it will be an race between Almaty Kazakhstan and Beijing China I will be right for months now about this race just an question now on when Oslo Norway will pull out it's not an if any more but when.

  6. First, your grammar is horrificSecond, the US/Commonwealth Games debate is not the same as those examples that you listed. The US has ties to the British Empire that qualify them to compete. Finland has no ties to the Americas, and Japan has no ties to Europe. Those arguments are ridiculous.

  8. I loved Altanta 1996 too (all those 90's-style graphics). Rio is one of my favourites, but maybeone step behind Athens and Atlanta. In the end of the day, I see many similarities among all of the previous looks.

  11. Yes. And Santa is sliding down the chimney with the presents. More hollow promises in a bid campaign...

  13. With the summer window (July/August) pretty much set in stone (there is no way the IOC will get 26-28 sports federations to agree to a January/February Games) the real 'Arab area' Middle East is pretty much ****-outta luck. Combine that with regional instability and the only realistic option "today" for the Middle East would be maybe Morocco (which would satisfy the Islamic part if not the geographical part of what the 'Middle east' refers to). With major political regime changes possibly Tehran which is in the climate sweet spot. Both are extreme longshots at best in the near future. The
