Yeah, but these Games are NOT the Olympics, so it's OK to be anti-Olympic. And they're being hosted in a traditional adversary of a moslem state...so what's wrong with that? I just spoke the truth!!

When you look back at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, it has become clear that all of the whining from some of the media (specifically the British and Russian media) were really whining. Vancouver 2010 was successful despite the weather challenges (and this will happen in Sochi too! There are palm trees in the city), and in the end, the Games went well and the facilities were first-class. Contrast this with what is happening in New Delhi. A show of unity.....pffffft.....sorry, but this isn't a debate between developing and developed nations. Our tabloids were really laying into South Africa because they had sources which stated England's training camp wouldn't be ready for the world cup. The tabloids were very, very wrong and it turned out to be a magnificent facility. So Gideon Sam knows very well a developing nation can surpass expectations and prove the world wrong. Why then, is he letting India off the hook like this and making the complainers out to be the bad guys? EDIT: Having read the full article I've decided this guy is a complete jerk: Dear India, We've read Gideon Sam's comments and realise we have been out of line. Sorry for being one of "these countries" causing you "problems" by "complaining" about dog-crap on the beds, poor plumbing, unclean showers, building dust etc etc. We'll stop being so imperialistic and do without real plumbing for the next month instead. Don't think so but he could be certainly slotted into the program for 'Kalmadi's Kaotic Komedic Kommonwealth Kapers' Already got performing dogs ("Thrill to the excitement as Delhi Dogs Deliver Kalmadi's Kanine Krap on an athlete's bed") and Tightrope Walkers ("Be amazed as high wire acts try and get into the stadium, defying death as bridges collapse underneath their very feet").
