I thought Asunción (Paraguay) had a good shoot to host it, but looks like it's too late for them now as Lima (Peru) was selected to do so which will be the second time they will do so after they did in 2019.

	Yeah I just had toooo

Following the sudden but expected stripping of Baranquilla's rights to host the 20th PanAm games, two Mexican cities immediately "rose their hands" to replace the Colombian city. And both have really brought on their support game.

For some back context, the last time Mexico hosted the PanAm games was in 2011 in Guadalajara, Jalisco; giving their unofficial bid a boost knowing they have the venues and the experience.

	https://www.telediario.mx/deportes/jalisco-buscaria-sede-juegos-panamericanos-2027

Now as for Nueva Leon, while the city has yet to experience a similar feat, they still have a compelling argument on something along the lines of venturing on infrastructure opportunities, even reasoning the 2026 FIFAWC into it (which was also another backing statement on Jalisco). But honestly only time can tell how well these interests age.

As we know, most of us would want the Olympics one day in Toronto, but the example the Pan American Games is leading is not a good one. What I mean is that the public isn't taking too lightly to this.

Let's look at what a fiasco this has become:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/pan-am-games-security-now-expected-to-cost-239m-1.2558569

Security costs are $239 Million??? Why on earth do they cost this much? Can the organizers understand that THIS IS NOT THE OLYMPICS? Think about this for a second, do not try to defend it, the price tag of this is unreasonable. Most people in Toronto and the GTA I'm willing to bet haven't even heard of the Pan American Games until the bid was awarded. If a figure of around 75% of people within Toronto oppose the Pan American games, how will the public EVER support the Olympics?

Also, the transportation plan is but a joke:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/pan-am-officials-want-local-traffic-cut-20-during-games-1.2572698

Are you kidding me, this elitism is sickening. I don't even have to delve into all busy our freeways already are in the region. Mississauga has but three lanes in either direction in their stretch of the QEW, are you telling me that lane capacity will be reduced by 33%. That 33% of traffic that uses the road will still need to get where they are going, you may just create a 33% longer commuting time. HOV lanes are grossly unfair, I understand a lot of cities use them, but how we do it here in Ontario arguably makes the problem worse. Also consider, the HOV lane can only be used properly if two co-workers both start around the same time and live close to each other. Also remember that HOV lane users will have to "bounce" all the way across the road to get off the road. HOV lanes may be better off being called "Family Lanes". It honestly makes me sick for them to make Pan Am lanes in all the traffic chokepoints in the city. Like by the Ford Plant on the QEW or beyond Salem Road on the 401, Think about this, at Salem road, you will now have 4 general lanes that condense into 2, a 50% loss of road space. The 401 is a massive commercial truck route, it can easily be said that there will be absolutely no economic gain from this.

I understand that Olympic Lanes are designated during the Olympics, but again. THIS IS NOT THE OLYMPICS. No one really cares at all about this event. The Gold Medal winning time in the 100m was in the 10s, that just shows you the kind of B-class event this is. I do not trust anything our government does, and my honest fear is that these Pan Am lanes will permanently be changed to HOV lanes as this is the foot in the door for this to happen.

Again no one seems to beleive me but this may be the metaphorical nail in the coffin that stops Toronto from ever getting the Olympics. Because there will be absolutely zero support for the Olympics the way this fiasco has been turning out.

FIRST POST EVER!!!!

Start Talking about the real posibbilities Santiago has to host the Pan Am games for the first Time in history.

Let's make some review.

Chile could have hosted the Pan Am Games twice, but it rejected to do it due to financial and political reasons. In 1974 the Games were awarded to Stgo, but militar cup made to move the games to Mexico City, which just years befores hosted the Olympics.

In 1987 Chile again was awarded to host the games, but newly they were rejected by Pinochet goverment, giving reasons that the country was not in condition to afford the games since in 1985 a big earthquake hit the country and money had to be spent in reconstruction. This time the games has to be scheduled in Indianapolis, USA.

Now is the first time there is a real interest in Chile to host a intenational event.

Chile will host the 2014 South American Games, which will be a sort of test to measure the organization capacity, Many new bids are in proyects to be constructed with high panamerican standards.

During 2011 Games in Guadalajara, COCH (Comite Olímpico Chileno, Chilean Olympic Committtee) made lobby with PASO to host the games.

In 2015 Chile will host the soccer American Cup.

Chile has the strongest economy in the region and Santiago is the city with major international invest in South America. Chile is the most reliable country for bussiness in South America.

Santiago has 7 millions people. which make an interesting piont for media, sponsors and tourism...

Chile has the most modern comuncational system in South America with high standard in comuncation, phones and internet. The conectivity into the city is one of the best in South America, too with its current 5 subway lines (in 2019 will be 6), a modern bus transportation system and modern and high standars highways.

Santiago's airport is one of the best in South America and one of the safest in the entire world.

Santiagio is ready!... 2019 Games have to come here!!

A just made a correction. For 2019 Santiago will have 7 subway lines!!!. One of the new station will take people directly to the Olympic Park which is proyected to be built....
