Does anyone know when tickets will go on sale in the United States? Will they be sold through CoSport again?

	Thanks in advance.

It looks like the KTX is not offering service from the Opening Ceremony (or the events the evening before) back to Korea. Am I mistaken? Can somebody please advise.

Hello everyone, I've been locked out of my old Gamesbid account so I had to start over with a new name. And thank you in advance to anyone who has suggestions.

As we have feared, getting accommodations are extremely difficult for these games. Travel sites have just now opened the dates for the games and there are so few hotels and most say they are already sold out. I've looked at Airbnb and few places are actually close to the two clusters and some are charging thousands a night. I've tried to use Google Maps to no avail- there is little public transportation that comes up.

In the transportation thread it was stated that the train to and from Seoul would be $45 USD and there is just no financial way that's a good idea for staying in Seoul the whole time. Has ANYONE been able to get accommodations? If so how did you find them?

Side note: I know there are at least 4 new hotels to be built but I can't even find their names to look into booking. Has anyone seen info about this as well?

Hello all, I thought I'd reach out to see if anyone else going to the games has better info on the Lunar New Year issues with Korail. I have had absolutely no issues reserving rail tickets until right now. They are not allowing anyone to reserve tickets with the Pyeongchang Rail Pass online from Feb 14-18 for the national holiday. They say it will be announced 'later'. I've tried Skyping their customer service several times and there is a severe language barrier. They say you could book tickets at a travel counter by 'asking a friend in Korea' or online. But every time I ask about that I get something different. Once they said that you can use the pass online....and then no it will be all in Korean for Koreans only....and I can't get anyone to tell me if I have to pay extra for this time period or just use the pass. It is getting me no where. I'm worried I will not get to events due to the sheer volume of travelers during a national holiday. Has anyone going found more solid info about this? Many thanks from a concerned fellow traveler.

So - I got an email offering an 8% (lol) discount on all ticket and accommodation packages.

I'm guessing based on the fact it appears ticket inventory has not dropped at all (at least on the Australian site) that we may see some ticket discounts soon? I've noticed a new option (Ticket Packages) in the menu - so that may be their next attempt to sell some seats... Bundle the "lesser" events with the "blue ribbon" events...

Hi all, we are new here to the Games Bids forums, although we have visited the website for news in the past.

I wanted to help some people with transport information seeing it is not readily available. We have been to PyeongChang a few times, and transport was one of our biggest worries.

KTX from Incheon will run 16 times a day, 10 carriages, 2 are drivers compartments, 8 for passengers on which at least 2 will be for accredited persons (athletes, media, officials). Each carriage carries 45 passengers and tickets will go on sale in December via Korean Rails website for around Won 50,000 (US$45) each way. The only issue is accredited persons take priority so with some schedules or flights arriving, some trains will have more than the 2 carriages reserved.

KTX from Seoul will run 35 times a day, 10 carriages, 2 are drivers compartments, 8 for passengers on which at least 1 will be for accredited persons. Journey time is around 2 hours.

PyeongChang 2018 are reviewing the schedule but because the KTX is a separate company, they need to work directly with them on their transport plan.

Public Transport plans will be released in December including the network of buses they will use in the province to move everyone. The actual main transport hub is not in Alpensia, but in Jinbu, so those from the coastal zone will need to travel further and then back track to any venues in Alpensia.

We have the following Transport Map to assist with anyone for the Games and we are happy to also provide any advice or answer any questions you may have.

So let's just assume CoSport will practically be double but here are the official prices...

Opening Ceremony

KRW 1,500,000, 800,000, 600,000, 220,000

AUD 1,759, 938, 703, 258

Closing Ceremony

KRW 950,000, 600,000, 400,000, 220,000

AUD 938, 703, 469, 258

The cheapest seats come in at KRW 20,000/AUD$24 (Bobsleigh prelims, Nordic Combined, Ice Hockey womens prelim rounds, Biathlon, Cross Country).

Figure Skating, Short Track and the Ice Hockey finals come in at the high end but that is to be expected.

I guess my planning starts now.
