I've just seen the torch running through Bristol. I was astonished how many people lined the streets...there were literally thousands lining the streets all the way through the Eastern suburbs between Bath and the city centre. I thought it would just be me and a few other sad tw@ts but everyone was really up for it. The weather was fantasic as well. It was amazing to see the torch, the whole operation around the relay is really something to see and the security was not oppresive either.

I am anticipating outrage from the British media if the "Plastic Brits" on the British Track and Field team medal in London.
Having said that, I am going to say that the Aussie Sally Pearson will end America's run of gold medals at the Olympics in the 100 meter hurdles when she shatters (or comes close to shattering) the Olympic record in the Women's 100 meter hurdles. This Olympics could be a defining moment for American Allyson Felix. She will either go down as one of the greatest American track and field athletes ever or one of the best to have never won an individual Olympic gold medal.
And on the swimming side of things....is Dara Torres coming back for London?

Will be really interesting to see how Britain fares at L2012. I hope the pressure of competing on home soil doesn't give our athletes Wimbledon syndrome... huge amounts of expectation leading to dismal failure. Falling at the last hurdle seems to be a british trait sometimes.

Just found this unofficial torch relay song on youtube. Sounds amazing for an amateur effort but not sure if its a wee bit sentimental for London 2012. Apologies if someone's already posted this somewhere else.
