In fact, the main reason is that Zaragoza's Mayor, after the local elections in March, did not get the support from some political parties to keep on with the bid.

(Altough the other reasons given could also be true :D)

^^ all the cities named are French cities except Jaca, Huesca and Zaragoza (which, I am aware that you know, are spanish :D).

Maybe my last comment was confusing, Perpiñan=Perpignan, is a french city.

^^ it could also be intereting taking into account a Perpiñan-Font-Romeu Bid.

It would be close to the biggest french ski resorts Font-Romeu and Pyrénées 2000, linked with high speed trains to Barcelona and Paris and Font-Romeu is about 90 kilometres from Perpiñan's Airport.
