Finalists from Seven Countries Vying to Host X Games Events Beginning 2013
ESPN, the leading action sports content provider, and creator of the X Games, today announced at a press conference at Winter X Games Aspen the nine cities that remain in consideration to host one of three new X Games events to be held outside of the United States beginning in 2013. The three winning bid cities will join current events in Los Angeles, California; Aspen, Colorado and Tignes, France.
Since the formal bid process launched last May, ESPN has received significant interest from around the world. Initially, more than 40 entities from 21 countries were qualified to bid. Nearly 20 of these entities participated in a two-day workshop at the X Games in Los Angeles in August 2011 which was designed to educate qualified applicants on the vision and long term strategy of the X Games. Official bids were due and submitted on January 2.
Today ESPN announced the following finalists will move into the final phase of the bid process.

Actually there are 3 Xgames cities, Los Angeles (Summer Xgames) Aspen and Tignes for Winter Xgames.
There will have 2 or 3 news Xgames cities. 2 cities in Europe (Summer Xgames/ Tignes), 2 in USA (Los angles/Aspen) and 2 or 1 somewhere else.
It's not sure to have 3 news cites because there is only 1 bid to Winter Xgames (Wisthler) and there is already Aspen in North America. There will have 1 new city in Europa and 1 new city in South or Central America.
There weren't Asian, African or Oceania bids....
Foz Do Iguaçu seems to be the most Crazy and Sexy Bid, Barcelona and Munich seem to be front runner in Europa and Lisbon the outsider...
There are lot of Olympic cities in the bid process : Barcelona (1992), Munich (1972), Rio (2016), Wisthler (2010) and in the actual Xgames host cities there are Los Angles (1932 and 1984) and Tignes (1992).

Whom are yours favorites?
Will Xgames Become the Olympic games of 21 century?
Will Xgames can become more important than Olympic Games?
