In Topic: USOC-IOC Revenue Deal This Week?

I hope they agree on this soon. It has just lingered for too long.

Certainly the top sponsorship cut is going to go down. Big question is by how much. Not sure what they exactly mean by "contributing toward the administrative costs for staging the games". How much of a contribution, and what is that contigent on? There is going to be a give and take with whatever deal they come up with. I will be interested to see what is given, and what is taken. If the way U.S. broadcasting rights have gone lately, the IOC is likely to get more of its cake and then some.

Yes, the decision should be interesting. I think they will shortlist them all now.

It is with regret that I have to withdraw my submission. I thought that I could find the time, but I have just been way too busy lately. I am leaving in a few weeks for SE Asia, and still have too much to accomplish before I go. I thought it would be better to let you know sooner, rather than later.

Good luck to the other competitors!

Boston can join in the race. I have no problem with that. Oh, and a group of a couple hundred "No Gamers" did not shut down Chicago's bid. It was simply Rio's time, and the USOC was doing very stupid things to piss off the IOC.

I have a lot of work still to do, but there is no way that I am going to be doing 50 pages. Quality over quantity. At the end of the day, the decision is up to Lord David or whoever else is running the comp.

Yeah, that will go over real well. One of the most iconic sports connected to the Olympics being snubbed by a bid.

Bids don't precipitate what sports to host or not host. Bids simply make plans for whatever sports the IOC wants featured in their Games.

I agree with Athens on this. There are compelling reasons why the Games should come back to the U.S., and this is one of them.
