As much as I was delighted to avoid groups B and C, I'm in no doubt that we will still face a serious examination in group D. I'd still fancy us to get through, even though our record in the Euros is awful, but I can't see us getting much further given the likelihood of a meeting with Spain or Italy in the quarter-finals.
As for the Rooney situation, I think the FA's appeal is due to be heard this week. The best I think we can hope for is that it is reduced to two games but I doubt we'll even get that. Assuming that's the case, I don't see how we can take Rooney at all.
