In Topic: Qatar May Be Stripped Of 2022

In the unlikely event that Qatar is stripped of hosting in 2022, why would it be seen as a "hot potato" or "damaged goods"? I think hosting in the USA would be fantastic and selfishly would LOVE to see the Cup here again. Eleven years from now, most football fans probably would not care that the Cup was originally to be in Qatar. I guess I'm trying to understand why so many think nobody would bid if it were re-opened???
