  1. FIS is planning for international FIS Games, which shall be hold in 2028 for the first time. The program of the Games will include all FIS sports. Sankt Moritz (Switzerland) and Lillehammer/Hafjell are the candidates to host the first FIS Games. The. Austrian Ski Federation is not a friend of these new International Games.
  2. When I was in London and watched the BBC coverage of the Olympic Games it became clear to me for the first time that an international event isn't really an international event, but one out of a national perspective. This awareness is reverified during every sport broadcast - the ORF (the Austrian public broadcaster) coverage differs a lot to the coverage by ARD or ZDF (the two German public broadcaster). I can watch both here in Vienna - you are not able to watch ORF in Hamburg (North Germany). The coverage of Alpine Skiing is much better in ORF than in ARD or ZDF, due Alpine Skiing is "THE mayor sport" in Austria - the coverage of "Summer sports" in ORF is nearly not existing - therefore I will watch Paris on ARD and ZDF.
  3. In my point of view the combination of the running and the shooting is a good sports event, but is contradicting when the other three events are not held combined in a way. I would prefer when a new "summer biathlon sport" = running and shooting is introduced as one sport - and obstacle racing as another new sport.
  4. I will pop in during Paris definitely - I took off from the office for the whole games to watch them live.
  5. Do you believe that modern pentathlon is good enough to be an Olympic Sport in future after the combination of the running and the shooting event and the exchange of the horse riding by an obstacle race before Los Angeles 2028?
  6. Coastal rowing is planned to be part of Los Angeles 2028, which can be seen ais a kind of life-saving sport... It really looks like that the next step is that Coastal rowing is switched from "Rowing sport" to a new created "Lifesaving sport" in 2032.
  7. Hello guys and gals! I am enjoying life very much - in this more and more crazy world... I still watch Eurovision Song Contest and the Olympic Games, but the negative referendum in Hamburg for 2024 was very disappointing for me and antagonised my interest in Olympic Bids a lot. The new "host selection" process is a kind of last coffin nail for my interest in Olympic Bids... In my point of view it is very nibulous!!!
  8. I am very annoyed about the IOC to neglect Sweden as Winter Olympic host again ... and prefer two previous hosts another time...
  9. I have a problem with the concept of Logo B: it uses the copyright-protected Olympic rings to create the Logo, pictograms and the branding... In my point of view it looks great, but opens pandoras box in the mean of protected Olympic symbols... Logo A looks very colourful and there is movement in the image - the imagery reminds me on the rainbow which leads us to a pot of gold...
  10. Lee, Davey and Citizen-Seth are doing fine
  11. Boa noite @DannyelBrazil I had some great times in Brazil - the Games, the city of Rio, visiting you any your wife and the fur kids! You and Pat are amazing people, who made me feel home in Sao Vicente! I am very fine, @yoshi- I live in Vienna now with a partner and a pug!
  12. Well, I watched all Opening ceremonies from Sarajevo 1984 until yesterday - and I have to say I was kind of disappointed. The whole show made me very aware that these Games are not Olympics like we are used to know, but substitute Games... There were some nice ideas for the segments - like the pictograms segment, but like Olympic2004 has already said it - after the first five you got it and it became boring to watch the last 45 ones... The film crew was "nice" as well, but somehow it didn't fit in the flow of the show... There was just one segment which I really enjoyed: I liked it, how the logo was formed in the centre of the "crowd" of athletes. Naomi Osaka looked more like she just came from the dentist than that she was chosen to lit the Olympic Flame...
