I think it's amazingly funny how so many of the posts seem to be generalizing information based on stereotypes.

Isn't the Olympics about bringing us together?

Qatar as mentioned in another thread, is one of the safest countries in the world. (Safer than Rio for sure, and statistically safer than the US or Japan).

The region is developing at a rapid pace, becoming an international hub, and there are hundreds of thousands of expats in the region.

There are two cities which I feel 'deserve' the Olympics.

Doha and Rio.

If Doha were to host it, it would bring so much development to the region. Putting the country in the world's eye will make it so amazingly changed.

If Rio were to get it, their people would also benefit by being in the world's eye. The hard working people deserve it
