A perfect example of the African way.......

One must not imagine what could happen if the Olympics would be in African in the next 10-12 years. Athens was ready just in time.....Torino will be ready (just in time).

There will a day, that an Olympic won't be ready in time......Let's hope the IOC thinks twice!

Well, if the continent Africa should host the Olympic Games, then South Africa will definitely be the "best" choice.....All other countries are much more unlikely.

Remember the World Championships Judo in Cairo last year. Some competitors had to sleep in the venue because there was a problem with the hotels. If Egypt cannot host such an event without major problems, then what would happen with the real thing?

I think Cape Town will probably be the first African city to host an Olympics.

I think South Africa has a good chance for 2020 or 2024.

Hey TG, I like Tugba Karaca. I think she'll do well in China this Dec. Any new pics of Azra?
I doubt that Miss Turkey will win this years event... but we will see!
Here are some pictures of Azra Akin:

I'd love an Olympic Games in Cape Town. Table Mountain overlooking the venues. Magic!

I hope, and truly believe Cape Town will host before 2036. It has a lot of support, bid experience, geopolitics and the fact it's actually ahead of NYC, London, Madrid, Germany's city and others in the queue all on its side

I agree it'll be Cape Town, but I think Nairobi has a great chance after that. Kenya is developing right now and could be as much an African power as Morocco or Tunisia by the time any of these countries bid.

I'd say Cape Town then Cairo then Nairobi

With South Africa hosting World Cup, they wont get Olympics any time soon.  When is the last time they held Commonwealth Game by the way?
I can't see why the World Cup makes any difference at all, apart from actually increasing the chances of success of a Capetown Olympic bid by showing the country will have some updated stadium, facilities, infrastructure and communications in place.
The World Cup hasn't hurt Olympic bids in the past  _ Munich 1972/Germany 1974, Spain 1982/Barcelona 1992, USA 1994/Atlanta 1996, France 1998/Paris 2012(?).
I do think that a Capetown bid for 2016, as has been suggested at Athens, wouldn't stand much chance of success against the runners-up of the 2012 bid. But it would be an excellent stepping stone and practice for a 2020 bid. I think Capetown is playing the game perfectly and has the right strategy in place to grab the 2020 games.
South Africa has never hosted the Commonwealth Games yet. I don't think the CGs are an essential step on the road to a South African Olympic hosting _ indeed, a 2014 CG in South Africa, rather than the World Cup, could be the problematic hosting in the race to get the Olympics.
CBC commentators (Canadian Broadcast Company biggest of its kind in Canada) said so.

I would say the top three African possibilities:

1 - Cape Town
2 - Johannesburg
3 - Casablanca
