It's seems to be our first last-minute surprise candidate. News is in that Prague will indeed bid and reveal its plans complete with a new logo on Tuesday (Sept. 4). News coming shortly on GamesBids.com.

I'd love to see a Prague Olympics at some stage. BUT WHY BID FOR 2016? Seems foolish. Not that I'm complaing, it'll make things more interesting here and it's not my taxes that will be paying for it.

Hopefully we'll see a slew of Czechs signing up to fight their corner.

Their chances are worse than Chicago, Tokyo, Madrid and Rio and considering the rotation factor, I'm tempted to even put them behind Doha.

It would be great to see a Prague Olympics as i have family live there and its such a beautiful city and the people are fantastic. However with the competition i dont think that they will suceed in winning the games, the other cities especially Doha and Rio have greater advantages such as rotation and past event like the asian games and pan american games. However the Czechs will put in a very good bid, even if it doesnt make it to the final vote.

I'd like to see it get on the shortlist. It is a great city and would like to see them get a chance to present their bid.

Yeah, but at least the Czechs have admitted that this is a practice run for 2020 and 2024, unlike Madrid. Prague doesn't expect to win..but they'll try

Without count that Sochi would be just close behind.. but at least they'll taste the soil for a most likely rotation in the future. They have to bid sooner or alter anyway if they would ever award the games.

But if it's NOT a whole-hearted bid, what's the point?
