is it true Mohammed Ali won a Olympic gold medal in boxing but through it in the river and said that there was no point because his country was divided or something like that....and then in 1996, the US let him light the cauldron and the IOC gave him a gold medal?
Wrong post in this topic. Ali threw it into the river because blacks were still not classified as "citizens" of the USA then to him. How do you think he changed his original name to the present Arabic one at that time? You know: segregation, KKK, apartheid-style American south (with blacks or whites only signs present then), and so on.

Sorry I haven't read your replies until now...

@youssef:
lrd1rocha made a good translation for you; if you need any other help, don't be afraid to ask.

@Relay:
I bought a collection of 10 videos at the FBO (Barcelona's Olympic Foundation). These videos include the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as videos of all sports and the preparations for the Games. You can go to www.fundaciobarcelonaolimpica.es and send them an e-mail asking for the videos (no online store available, everything has to be done via e-mail). There're many Olympic products for sale, you just have to ask them for a list.

@olympian:
I'm afraid the link is not shown anymore in elsesports.net , but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist (they just change the links in the different sections every day); maybe you should try to find the topic I posted some weeks ago with the link.
:)

The facial expression of the mascot can imply that they're mentally retarded of some sort..
All of Mariscal's mascots have the same facial expression; I don't think he's intention was to show the mental handicap of some Paralympic athletes. I'm sure COOB'92 would have vetoed him.

Probably the coolest Barcelona moment - the closing ceremony where Cobi is on that big silver boat balloon and it kinda hit the crowd before bouncing back up into the air.

It's kind of a sad moment. It represents the death of the mascot (at least that's what Mariscal said).

As a reminder, Barcelona is getting set to host the police officers and firefighters from around the world. They all will compete in the 2003 World Police and Fire Games from July 27 to August 3. See the official link for yourselves:
