Guardian, I think a short investigation may show you that "Corby", where this pool is being built, is a large ex-steel mining town in Northampshire, which is renowned for being a class "A" dump! ;) Thanks anyway...I got all excited for a moment there!

Sorry about that. In any case, it is better to get things started as soon as possible, when it comes to constructing and preparing ALL the venues for London 2012.

I too hope that the Olympic Park is not a mish mash of different venue designs that dont fit together, with no flow!!! Should have had a selected few designers for the venues working together to produce an Olympic park that Says something, Says this is London!!!

The design of the Aquatics Centre Looks good, orginal was better, but hey...anything to keep the costs down.

I have also learnt, that HOK & Peter cook, the designer of the Olympic Stadium are thinking of have NO ROOF, only partly covered, over the VIP area. Surely, this cant be true? The stadium will look bare....and what happens if it rains?

Has anyone have any ideas on the Stadium designs?

I love the new design. it looks like a big wave... something to remind us of Great Britain's marine past.
I looked once more down Sally’s well but this time there was nothing there to haunt me… just clouds, clouds and then sun! "Cold Mountain"

I also like the design for the aquatics centre. Jayezz, have you seen any designs for the stadium?

Put it this way, I don't see it being substantially roofless.

They definetly need some kind of roof, retractable or not.
As we saw at Wimbledon recently, the weather in London can never be predicted. Warm Sunshine one minute, giant hailstones firing like bullets the next.

Speaking of weather....

WHERE IS SUMMER? Even here in France, the weather has been inclement. Northern Europe is having its worst summer for many years.
