Doug Jack cried when they sticked out their legs through those ribbons in the mosh pit? Ummm... well... ok...

I've seen much, much, much more moving segments than that one, and Torino's opening ceremony was rather unemotional and cheesy anyway. But I guess the most important thing is that the choreographer is moved by the ceremony...

We can't blame that on Johnny Weir.

Doug Jack returned to Italy in Summer 2009 to also do the Med Games opening in Pescara. That was shortly before I contacted him.

Today was the opening ceremony of the Winter Asian Games at Astana-Almaty, Kazakhstan (lets remember Almaty made a bid for the 2014 games so these competitions could help them improve their experience and image for the next time they try to bid). There are not much videos online but here is a performance of Lara Fabian at the Astana Arena



However...the whole structure of the ceremony looks suspiciously very similar to Vancouver 2010...Hmmmm...

Also it seems the next WAG will be in Sapporo since they're the sole bidders so far.

But what is a singer from Belgium, beautiful and talented as she is, doing at the opening of an Asian Winter Games, in Asian minor? (Her song goes on forever.) Did Jacques get here in there? Does Kazakhstan hope it will get them extra points with Jacques baby??
