Well you have the right city's who are officially biding for the commonwealth games.
There has been talk of others but at this stage a bid would not have much of a chance of
sucess as key meetings have taken place in regards to the commonwealth games 2014.
Durban, South African civic officials are making some noise as they are building a stadium in that city for the 2010 world cup but it is said that african governments including
south africa are supportive of the Bid by Nigerian capital city Abuja. Nigeria did not place a
bid on the World Cup of Soccer for 2010 and it is said that South Africa in return would leave
Nigeria to bid on the CWG's 2014.
In Febuary 2006 Windhoek, Namibia was said to have made a statement of intending to bid but like Durban they have missed an important presentation by the the bid cities that was held in melbourne. Bids opened April of this year and will close April 2007. If these two city's are to bid then they have to get a committee together soon.
New Zealand explored biding last year with a study commissioned by the HOn. Trevor Mallard and the study conducted by Sir Ronald Scott (the chairman of the 1974 commonwealth games in Christchurch
New Zealand) Trevor Mallard basically panned the idea of new zealand being a host of the games in its
present form citing high operations and security costs.
hope that helps

Mikel, those three cities are likely to be the only candidates, and Glasgow is ever so slightly the front runner.
