Sadly I think Jimmy has been "dealt with" in the true dictatorial way.

"When will we see yer likes, again.... that fought and died for...yer wee bit hill and Glen...."

Either that or he is one hell of a poor loser......

I don't want to make it a "He started it! No HE did!" type argument _ the fact is that eventually it had become so heated the protagonists were split irrevocably anyway, there was little liklihood of any bridgs being mended.
But if you do look at the beginning pages of many Commonwealth Forum threads, there was some sympathy, mixed admittedly with a bit of bemusement, towards Abuja's bid. Jim arrived here originally as a strident trolling NIMBY against Halifax (and I always wondered why NIMBYs seem to think they'll get a sympathetic hearing on a fan-boy site). When he started shifting to his Abuja obsession, I really did try to engage him in some of the early stages. But he was always incapable of handling polite discourse against his opinions.

South Africa - I though they supported Abuja ? A hint that they could bid for 2018 ?

Kenya - Whatever happen to Africa supports Abuja !

Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka - Yes, Asia did not go Abuja despite 2010. Being a muslim country, didn't stop Brunei, Malaysia, Maldives and Pakistan from voting Glasgow

Jamaica - I thought they were behind Abuja !

Children, children, calm down!!

There is no point in going over this other than to say it is Glasgow that proved superior. You should know that this is a new Scotland, repeat a new Scotland, that you are talking about here.

I have worked all over the globe and when I came "home" in 2000 it was a revelation - it is getting more and more of a revelation each day - this place is fantastic!!

I'm going to book a table at my favourite restaurant in Glasgow in 2014 - I want all on this blog to be there - as my guest - you will all be very welcome. You too James!!

James is leaving obnoxious comments all over the Commonwealth Games forum, just a bad case of sour grapes...
