Maybe after all, they're coming to their senses and grab the pu...opportunity of securing two (on paper) reliable host cities in one go. And then hope and pray that Le Pen won't win (and not in 22 either) and the orange creep doesn't get a second term to get more than enough distance by the time 2028 rolls on (assuming the sequence is Paris-LA, not the other way around).

I say do it.  These two bids show that the Games can be staged without massive infrastructure upgrades.  It gives the IOC a half arsed gold star for being "responsible" and gives them the breathing room to tweak Agenda 2020 so that when 2032 comes around there is more interest.

Also 'distance makes the heart grow fonder' will apply - a decade without any Olympic bid processes will make the 2032 race quite a contest. For the first time since the early 90s, I feel like Australia might actually have a shot at 2032 following Durban's demise (and Toronto being regionally blocked due to LA28).
