So I think that would have no bearing on the matter. While I agree that Trump doesn't really help L.A. now, I still believe that if Paris wins 2024 it's bcuz the IOC felt more compelled to go there instead. You said so yourself in the L.A. thread that even if Hillary won, Paris still would have the advantage. Agree in that

When the actual 2028 Games would arrive though, he'd be LONG gone. And I'm sure that both the USOC & the IOC would be smart enough to tell the difference. We'll see Likewise - especially when you're assuming that he'll be re-elected. To quote you, "we'll see". But even in the event that he was, you're putting the cart before the horse anyway. But you tell yourself what you need to tell yourself for whatever your own partial reasons.

Hey, aren't we discussing? Just pointing out that re-elected or not, the damage is already done and that's barely a month in service, imagine 4 years of more pissing off the globe, even close allies like Australia and Germany. It will take time to fix those relationships and a huge 180 degrees shift in how the US diplomacy do business which I believe it's utterly incapable of doing. I personally think that Trump is just getting warmed up as he's pursuing a foreign policy of isolation and that's exactly what he's going to get. If re-elected, it may or may not have an impact. It all depends (as usual) on who the other 2028 bidders will be. And if the IOC is still having trouble attracting high-quality bids (& yes, that also includes in the summer Games category, too), then that won't have much bearing then, either. I still say that you're putting way too much emphasis on that aspect either way. And plus, while I still don't see L.A. winning 2024, that has less to do with what Trump is doing now & more to do that the IOC would rather go to Paris & Europe instead in 2024, bcuz talk about strained relations there with the IOC. There's nothing funny about war. I was being serious when I said that expressing concerns about a very real scenario (Iran) Lighten up? tell that to the families of hundreds of thousands of dead in Iraq that died for nothing because Bush wanted "to blow shit up". That's no laughing matter

baron-pierreIV
So for LA to improve its chances slightly, Trump has to be impeached before September this year; and Pence (God, not him either!) might add a vote or 2...or NOT!! You don't get it, do you. But then again, you're a newbie here, so why would you. But here on Gamesbids, L.A. vs Toronto for 2028 would be a BATTLE ROYALE!!! And if your (single) posts are any early indication, it's gonna be a GOOD ONE, too!!!! And forget Mexico City. Throw in Madrid (with those nasty, snarky Spaniard's), & it'd be EPIC!!! Oh boy, the more I think about it, the more & more I want Paris 2024 to win!!! OMG, this is evil and great Anyway, if Trump legacy is still big inside the rotten values from GOP, I want Mexico City (Or Guadalajara) to compete for the 2028 SOG, just to see what happens if Mexico wins.
