How about 1 000 000 000 mascots?  That's a relevant number for China.

You'd think that they'd have more than one mascot because of this squabbleing, and because the equestrian events are taking place in Hong Kong, it's logical (From my point of view at least) that one should have something to do with the Hong Kong area.

It is probably a trademark issue.

Seoul had such a problem...

Do you mean that Kellogg's objected to the appearance of the Seoul 1988 mascot then?

yea a dragon would be cool, but i personally think that a panda would be the best idea for the mascot
Yeah, but panda was the mascot of the 1990 Asian Games of Beijing and it could be a little repetitive...
yea you are probably right
I think it would be between a panda or a dragon. Both could be great mascots, but please: no more Neves, Glizes, Phevoses and Athenas! :ooh:

Both the monkey king and the panda look pretty good. I hope that these are signs that Beijing is going to go to a more traditional-type mascot rather than the Athena-Thevos, Snowlets, Izzy, Cobi type of monstrosities.

Is that a bead of sweat on the Panda's forehead? It looks like it's being herded forward at gunpoint.
