The inugural Rugby Championship, the Southern Hemiphere's edition of the mighty Six Nations Championship got underway tonight with a rather average by their standards Australia v New Zealand.
Final score NZ 27 - Aus 19.
The two other participants, South Africa and Argentina were about to play as this was written.
It is hoped that the new championship will grow to six teams in time with Uraguay and Samoa joining in the future.

I thought I would create this 'Singular' thread to cover all games that involve the Sanzaar sides including Mandela and Bledisloe Cup matches, along with regional fixtures involving these teams...That includes tours with 'other' international sides.

Do we know why they didn't go for the "Four Nations". I know there is a Rugby League tournament of that name but I wouldn't have thought that was a barrier. "Rugby Championship" just sounds a bit amatuerish really - second tier.
