Do you think its right for Gb to block Assange from seeking asylum in Ecuador?

Well I don't get why Ecuador is getting involved.

But, he is wanted for rape (or something along those lines) in Sweden.

And anyway, if he was to try to get to the airport, he would be instantly arrested.

So I'd put myself on the anti-Assange side at the moment.

Also, why did Ecuador have to do their announcement today in an X-Factor/Ecuador Idol style.

Yesterday: Join us tomorrow when we will reveal the fate of contest hopeful Julian Assange. WILL we hand him over to the UK government OR will we grant him asylum where he will then have to escape to the airport by fulfilling a number of tricky challenges.

Join us tomorrow on: Asylum-Idol

If the Ecuadorian government grants Assange asylum, he would probably leave the UK under Ecuadorian diplomatic escort.

And get arrested as soon as he gets on the plane.

He'd be under Ecuadorian diplomatic protection so I don't think that could happen.

He should be arrested as soon as he leaves the embassy.

Why live life like a fugitive? I am for personal responsibility. Own up to these allegations.

It would be difficult though. When the Americans left Iran during the hostage crisis they were granted Canadian passports, which is an inference of citizenship. Ecuador would have to do something similar, if not outright granting of citizenship before their diplomatic protection would be recognized.

In a referendum held in May 2011, President Rafael Correa obtained a popular mandate for constitutional reforms that could significantly increase government powers to constrain media and influence the appointment and dismissal of judges.

I find it curious, that a man who proclaims to fight against government corruption would seek asylum in Ecuador.

Utterly bizarre!
